*Chalk Talk* is a silent, visible thinking routine used in classrooms to encourage open dialogue and reflection. Students respond to a central question, idea, or prompt by writing their thoughts, questions, and responses on a shared board or chart paper. Without speaking, they interact by adding new ideas, connecting to others’ contributions, or asking follow-up questions. This routine fosters collaboration, critical thinking, and active participation, especially for those who might be hesitant to speak aloud.
