With the guidance of Dean of the College of Computer, Prof. Al- Shoshan, the College has initiated a new center called the Innovation Incubator Center (IIC), which will be based, in a new Lab joint with the Student Club. The IIC aims to incubate and nurture the innovative ideas and businesses offered by our talented students in the programming, applied and design fields of computer in addition to
variety of works that serve our society and could be applied in practical life. Through this center, students can flourish their innovative ideas and projects.
2. What is frame of the Center? The following is a framework for the Center:
- This center operates under the supervision of the CoC Projects Unit. The center represents a link between the students and the CoC.
- The Center will foster and support ideas of practical nature by adopting them and by setting up teamwork to follow up the design and how to implement the vision of the owner of the idea and to find out the best way to apply it.
- All students of the College of Computer can apply to the center.
- The center will also follow and support works that need more than one academic term to be accomplished.
- It encourages and uplifts the students by showcase the innovations that have been fostered by the Center in national and international scientific events and functions and in the College Project Fair.
- The center comprises of five faculty members; a coordinator and four representatives of each department including the Female Section.
3. How does it work? Following are the details of how to present your brilliant ideas:
- The IIC committee will select suitable ideas / projects for the competition from each department (including the female section).
- A participant student should submit his/her idea/ project through a faculty member to the Department representative. Then all the ideas will be discussed by the IIC Committee.
- A presentation will be prepared by the students and it should comprises summary of the idea or project with its title, students names, its importance, bullet points on it and any software or hardware outcomes.
- A panel from each department and a staff from a sponsoring company will assign the best innovative idea or project during the best project cermoney at the end of the semester.
- The best four projects (three from male section (CSC, CEN, and IT) and one from IT female section) will be selected and awarded.
