Could you name a hundred things that make life wonderful? A thousand? How about a million? When he was 7, a boy’s mother attempted su***de. In response, he started a list of things to live for. As he grows up, the list takes on a life of its own. From “Ice Cream” ( #1 on the list) to “the Alphabet” ( #999,997), Every Brilliant Thing shines a hilarious and compassionate light on dark corners of the human condition. It's a play about depression, resilience, and the lengths we will go to for those we love - told in collaboration with the audience.

Mental 360 and Headspace254 in association with SWVL are delighted to announce the Kenyan premiere of amateur play, EVERY BRILLIANT THING at Cradle Arts Festival 2019, a heart-warming play directed by Julisa Rowe and performed by everybody’s favourite Kenyan actor, writer, director and humanitarian, Mugambi Nthiga.

We had a lot of fun hosting the IDEO.org board this week. Our partnership with them keeps getting stronger and we couldn’t be more excited hosting these incredible minds. From IDEO chair, Tim Brown to Sandy Speicher, CEO of IDEO. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Rob Pew, Chair of Steelcase, Micheal Hendrix, Global Design Director , Janiece Evans-Page, VP Fossil Global Philanthropy, Susan Schuman, Founder and CEO SYPartners, Whitney Mortimer, partner , Debra Dunn from Stanford School and the ever exciting Jocelyn Wyatt, CEO . We were joined by other design directors and Managing Directors. What an exciting morning.

Still pumped with so much excitement that we were able to this happen. The last few weeks have been nothing but fascinating and a crazy learning curve for everyone. Excited to see you what’s next for this exchange program!

We opened our doors to the public for the exhibition of the interventions the Students from Nairobi Design Institute,
RCA IDE - Innovation Design Engineering and Gearbox worked on. It was pure bliss. So much engagement and excitement. We even brought some of the stakeholders we designed with from Dandora!

Friday afternoon was pitching time! The teams pitched their final concepts to the training staff for the final reviews and feedback before the main exhibition!

We want to give a big shoutout and special thanks to Gearbox for being a stellar exchange program partners. We had students from their engineering program and they gladly opened their doors for the students to prototype and build the solutions. So much love for our new found education partner!!

We also made time for some play! We mixed up teams and played a game of soccer. Such fun!

Last week saw all the students from Nairobi Design Institute, RCA IDE - Innovation Design Engineering and Gearbox go out for more user testing of the concepts they were building then back to the studio for synthesis and concept building
