Kigali Independent University (ULK)

ULK Gisenyi Campus commemorated the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in a solemn event marked by remembrance, unity, and compassion. Two cows were donated to two survivors of the Genocide against Tutsi in 1994 under the Kuremera program.

Hon. Joseph Nsengimana, the Minister of Education, visited ULK and UPI as part of a nationwide initiative aimed at assessing and strengthening the quality of education and academic programmes offered in universities and higher learning institutions in Rwanda.

As we mark the 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi,
ULK solemnly remembers and honors the lives lost.

We stand in unity with the people of Rwanda, paying tribute to their resilience, courage, and strength in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

May this period of remembrance continue to guide us in promoting unity, healing, and reconciliation, as we collectively strive to build a peaceful and prosperous future.

AfyaDX team from ULK participated and won 1st runner up in the CodeXtreme Ingenious Hackathon.

On Thursday, 5th March 2026, we held an insightful Leadership Skills Development session on “Stress Regulation in Leadership”, presented by the President of the CELA Club, Mr. Cyrus G. Fallah.

The session reminded us that leadership often comes with pressure and responsibility. Learning how to regulate stress is essential for leaders to stay focused, make sound decisions, and effectively guide their teams. True leadership is not the absence of stress, but the ability to manage it wisely and transform challenges into opportunities for growth.
