SIT Study Abroad Rwanda: Post-Genocide Restoration and Peacebuilding Share daily life with a Rwandan family through your homestay. Engage in critical reflection during program excursions in Rwanda and to northern Uganda.

Examine the origins of conflict in Rwanda; the social, human, and psychological impacts of genocide; and the challenges and opportunities of post-conflict restoration. Study abroad at the program base in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city and home to many commissions, organizations, and government bodies related to the program’s study of post-genocide restoration and peacebuilding. Immersion in local s

ocial and cultural dynamics gives you a unique inside perspective of life in post-genocide Rwanda. Attend thematic seminar on post-genocide restoration and peacebuilding featuring lectures by leading Rwandan academics and professionals working in the areas of genocide studies, peacebuilding, and development. Study the Kinyarwanda language, learn field techniques and methodologies, and complete an independent research project (ISP) that explores a topic, community, or situation related to the post-conflict transformation of particular interest to you.
