Mr. Kagaruki the founder of Nirere Nursery School.
Just after the Rwandan Genocide in 1994 against the Tustis which lasted for 100days and killed more than 1,000 000 Rwandans. The war left nearly 100 000 children orphened which resulted in many child headed households and a widespread of poverty and education problems.
Mr Kagaruki saw a need for a non profit educational support initiative for orphans and children coming from disadvantaged families who are uneducated and cannot afford to send their children to school.
Before the school was founded, John taught the children himself in his home and later found an old church building in which he started Nirere Nursery School with twenty five children and three volunteer teachers, John’s daughter Pelagie, Mukasangwa and Mukamana.
