- Society engagements in education and health care:
Research shows that family engagement in a child’s education increases student achievement improves attendance and reduces dropout rates. Engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children is the main pillar to quality education and health safety , through advocacy we empower marginalized groups of women and children through educational programs.
- Parents and PTA (parents teacher association) involvement in education and health care
When schools engage families in ways that improve learning and support parent involvement at home and school, students make greater gains. When schools build partnerships with families that respond to parent concerns, honor their contributions, and share decision-making responsibilities, they are able to sustain connections that are aimed at improving student achievement. Committed parents for education and health care(CPEH) fundamentally believes that the empowering of parent communities is crucial for the educational success of Rwandan schools and believes that parents’ engagement in schools is a shared responsibility, CPEH is committed to reaching out to engage parents in meaningful ways, and parents are actively supporting their children’s learning and development. At school
- Student Performance Program:
CPEH Student performance program (SPP) is a program that supports and celebrates partnerships between CEPH and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students and their families. Through the student performance program, your PTA and School will gain new ways to engage families in school decision-making, such as improvements to programs, practices and policies related to education, health, safety or the arts. Through trainings and workshops: these trainings /workshops involve supporting PTCs ( parent teachers committees) in their roles and responsibilities and facilitates PTCs to teach and encourage their communities towards health and vitality.
- Early Childhood Care and Education Program (ECCEP)
We believe that while learning begins from birth, the direction to take in applying this principle should be adapted to the context. For the education sector, pre- primary education is a natural entry point to early childhood development. Pre-primary education deserves to be made a priority on condition that it focuses on comprehensive child development and it is provided in an environment that keeps to basic teaching/learning Standards. Committed parents for education and health care are committed to reach this goal by:
increasing the literacy acquisition by helping the parents and children to have access to education near the home and by supporting and teaching parents emergent literacy practices through parenting trainings /meetings, parenting system at schools and home visits, with goals of increasing children’s emergent literacy skills (0-3) and school readiness (3-6)
Increase the quality education by strengthening the five core skills reading (alphabet knowledge, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension) by supporting children‘s reading both at school and at home. Working with the parents to mobilize youth and community volunteers to conduct weekly literacy boost reading clubs with children, following an established curriculum that uses games, read-aloud activities, songs, and make-and-take activities to build the five core skills and build a stronger culture of reading and learning for children.
- Sponsor a Child
We are providing and supporting literacy initiatives around the country. Books are needed at each academy to each student include English reading books and curriculum books. Success in school begins with literacy and when children have access to books, learning and achievement increases dramatically. For each gift you donate, curriculum books and English language books are purchased and distributed to support literacy efforts around the Country (Rwanda) to improve the quality education. Sponsoring a child’s education you are offering and saving the future of a child. Your contribution will cover school uniforms and classroom materials and supplies. Children will now have a wonderful opportunity to learn and future goals because of your heart of generosity. This is your opportunity for your change to make a change in the lives of children and families.
- Sponsor a School
CEPH has multiple schools working together and pre-school construction projects in a rural area in Rwanda. We need individuals and organizations to invest in the education of children especially in Early Childhood education. We hope to build a pre-school in rural area to reduce a big gap in early childhood education in Rwanda. We need your help to provide quality education from pre-school all the way through high school. Health, Safety and Community Development Program
The goal of CEPH’s health, safety and development programming is to be a resource for the families in partnering with schools, organizations, churches and different people with the heart of generosity to create and deliver health services for safe environments that encourage healthy, safe choices and social and emotional support for all children and families. CEPH have a role in advocating for or supporting health and safety changes at every level of a child’s environment by Identifying areas, equipment and behaviors within the school and home environments that could be healthier or safer for children and families and by advocating for marginalized families to get materials and basic needs for good health. Arts House Program
Art and craft generally are the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination typically in a visual and tactile form such as painting, modeling (pottery), making crafts, sculpture, jewelry, producing works to be appreciated primary for their beauty or emotional power. Rwandan culture’s art and craft is one of the most common economic activities, in rural areas people carry out different categories of creating beauty by marking different art and craft articles, were by its by these articles that they make that they get daily earnings to support them with foods, education, clothing and other more basic needs. As Committed Parents for Education and Health (CPEH) care organization we help reach some of these people and support them by teaching them more skills, and knowledge in the making of their different categories of arts like those that make clay articles like pots, candle holders, flower holders, bulb holders, charcoal stoves, modeled animal figures and more other articles in clay, jewelry(making of bangles, laces, bags, door mats, local mats, and more others made from local materials like polythen, plastics, fibers, threads and more other local materials, pulp (making of art articles using paper, local beads are made using paper with furniture vanish paint and then make ornaments, cutting wood to form articles like mingling stick, and many other articles, basketry (the art of making baskets from local materials like papyrus, making ropes from scissor). CEPH helps promote the art and craft articles made by Rwandan people, we invite in people to spend a day or more with the local artists(potters), learn and share about their culture, art, day to day life, then share a local meal with these people in a local way of preparation. Join and enjoy a day or more with Rwandan culture through art making of beautiful articles using local African materials and resources
