Meet Yvan Sibomana, a Mining Engineering graduate from RP-Kigali College and currently working as a Mine Planner at Rutongo Mines.

Yvan shares that the knowledge and technical skills he gained at the college, especially the mining software and analytical tools he studied are the foundation of his daily work. They enable him to plan effectively, optimize resources, and support informed decision-making in mining operations. He believes that when applied with professionalism and dedication, this expertise not only drives operational success but also provides sustainable career growth and financial stability.

On 30 January 2026, Dr. Irene N. Mihigo, the Director of Academics Services, officially presided over the closing of the three-week Foundation Program on behalf of the Management of RP-Kigali College.

Students were encouraged to uphold the program’s values and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes gained as they begin their academic journey toward becoming responsible and impactful contributors to society.

Today, the Management of RP-Kigali College received senior leaders from Build Health International ( BHI) : Omar Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer, and Gerard Georges , Director of Architecture.

The visit aimed at strengthening partnerships and exploring more areas of collaboration.
The delegation toured the Biomedical Equipment Technology Laboratory as well as the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plant, both used for hands-on training.

The 3-week Foundation Program is currently underway at RP-Kigali College.
This initiative, which includes the Soft Skills & Career Development (SCAD) Program and Communicative English, targets year one students across Rwanda Polytechnic, equipping them with the skills they need to improve academic performance, build self-confidence, and enhance future employability.

The Induction and Orientation Week at RP-Kigali College officially closed today by the Deputy Principal in Charge of Academics and Training, Dr. Alice Ikuzwe.

The Deputy Principal encouraged the new students to stay committed to their main mission of studying and start developing innovative project ideas as early as possible, emphasizing that such innovative thinking with strong discipline will not only shape their future success but also contribute significantly to the country’s development.

Day 3: The Induction and Orientation Week continued at RP-Kigali College where new students were briefed on "market requirements and opportunities, including the skills, attitudes, and job opportunities related to their respective programs".

The session was facilitated by Mr. Abdallah Nzabandora , a Workplace Learning Project Manager at Mifotra who encouraged them to study hard, plan their careers early, and develop strong soft skills and teamwork, which are essential for future success.

On January 6, 2026, on behalf of the management of RP-Kigali College, the Division Manager in Charge of Corporate Services Mr. Charles Gakomeye officially welcomed new students (Second Intake) who have joined various departments for the Academic Year 2026.

The new students were encouraged to fully commit to their studies, remain focused and disciplined, and make the most of this opportunity by striving for personal growth and academic excellence.
They were also reminded that the knowledge and skills they acquire will enable them to improve their own lives, support their families , and contribute positively to the development of the country.

Today, 22 December 2025, RP-Kigali College 2025 welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia through our partnership with Build Health International (BHI).
The team visited the Biomedical Equipment Technology Lab and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plant Training Center to learn about our training programs, BHI’s capacity-building initiatives, and the wider oxygen plant ecosystems.

RP-Kigali College had the honor of hosting a delegation from Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft e.V. (BIWE), led by Mr. Stefan Küpper, CEO of BIWE.

BIWE is a valued partner from Germany and has been instrumental in the establishment of our BTech in Automobile Engineering.

During the visit, the delegation toured the automobile workshop and engaged in discussions on expanding collaboration to foster innovation, strengthen skills development, and deliver programs closely aligned with industry needs.

Today, RP–Kigali College had the honor of welcoming members of the Parliamentary Network on Anti-Corruption (APNAC–Rwanda), Hon. Uwubutatu Marie Thérèse and Hon. Philbert Uwiringiyimana.

The Members of Parliament engaged with students in an insightful discussion on the dangers of corruption and its negative impact on the country’s economy and how it hinders the effective delivery of public services.

Students were urged to take a strong stand against corruption and to actively report any cases of corruption and injustice wherever they occur.
