Specialists Training in Havana
The cooperation of the Institute of continuing professional education and Cuban partners continues. As we have already mentioned in recent publications, the Institute has successfully trained more than two hundred employees of Cuba’s largest national oil company .
The trainees studied the 40-hour course of “Increasing the durability of plugging materials in aggressive environments and in natural bitumen deposits from January, 28 to February,1. It was the first group of this year.
The training was delivered in Havana and held by the Doctor of technical sciences, Professor of oil and gas wells drilling department Farit A. Agzamov.
Upon completion of training, 19 trainees successfully passed the final exam. The company's management and students highly appreciated the teaching level of and the availability of teaching material.
The tornado in Cuba on February, 3 didn’t get in the way with the lessons. Fortunately, the unpleasant consequences of the disaster made only our employees change the audience, as the building for training the students, was damaged by the hurricane.
In 2019, four more training programs are to be delivered this year:" Economy and management of the refinery and petrochemical industry " (108 hours); "Economy of field design and development" (40 hours.); "Economy of the drilling enterprise" (108 hours.); "Effective project management" (40 hours.).

Institute of continuing professional education, together with the Oil equipment technology department has launched Authorized training center ASCON to teach the software .
Training is carried out by certified teachers of USPTU.

ASCON group programs help the customers to grow their business by means of up-to-date information technology solutions. They address key engineering design issues, such as accurate 3D modeling, preparation and release of drawings and design documentation, business process development, and engineering data management.

KOMPAS-3D creates associative three-dimensional models of individual parts and assemblies. The models can be made from original designs and/or standard part libraries. Its parametric technology allows you to quickly generate ranges of product models based on single prototypes. Numerous utility functions help you solve auxiliary design and production problems.

We offer the following basic programs:
Three-dimensional parametric modeling of parts and assembly units in COMPASS-3D (40 hours);
Developing the design documentation in COMPASS-Graphic (40 hours).

The additional courses will make the whole picture of these software programs for special purposes:
Compass-3D. Pipeline design (16 hours);
Compass-3D. Metal structures design (16 hours);
Compass-3D. Assembly units design (16 hours).

Well casing is one of the main steps in oil and gas well , and the course was highly appreciated by the staff. Today PetroEngineering LLC works with foremost drilling, petroleum and gas companies in Russia, such as LUKOIL PJSC, Gazpromneft PJSC, Eurasia Drilling Company Ltd et al. providing engineering services of equipment and technology of oil and gas wells drilling. The cooperation of the Institute of continuing professional education of the USPTU and Cuban partners is still ongoing. More than two hundred employees of the national oil company Cupet have been already trained in ICPE.
