February Ladies’ Book Club session was devoted to a topic of happy marriage. I enjoyed the privilege of moderating a deep and sincere discussion of four amazing married women.

⠀

My fair ladies of the Book Club have generously revealed their secrets of happy marriage:

⠀

- to be independent, mature and grown-up;

⠀

- to look at the same direction, have a common goal with your husband;

⠀

- to be connected to each other intellectually and emotionally;

⠀

- to fulfill your duties and share responsibilities;

⠀

- to spend quality time with each other, and to have quality s*x;

⠀

- to rely on destiny and help us God!

⠀

As for the couple from the short story we were discussing, F***y and George, they lacked most of the necessary components of the happy marriage, so we came to the conclusion that their marriage would not outlast the honeymoon.

I would like to thank all the participants of the event and also for the cosy and intellectual atmosphere and warm welcome!

I believe that storytelling is the most wanted skill in modern world. The stories you tell in your every day life help you achieve your goals because most of the time it involves interaction with other people. And how do we interact? We tell people our stories!

⠀

If you, as a person, are as absorbing and exciting as a novel with unexpected plot twists, you are more likely to keep your partner’s interest and enjoy a lifelong loving relationship.

⠀

If you are an expert in some field, if you are an encyclopedia of a person, you will never have to look for a job, your job will look for you. Agree?

⠀

That's why I love introducing different storytelling activities both at my individual and group lessons.

⠀

During our January session we played a board game called I chose it because it can easily be found online and offers a great variety of playing options. It's a good way to acquire and activate new vocabulary and train your memory.

⠀

We customized the original rules so that we could enjoy some collaborative creativity and tell one great story using all of the words from the cards we had.

⠀

Here's the beginning of the story we made up 🤓

⠀

Once upon a time lived King Arthur. He had a shield that belonged to his loyal Knight. They liked to drink and drive here and there in a cart. Unsafe driving caused then falling off the cliff. After death the King and The Knight reincarnated as a Deer and an Oxen. Together they travelled to a magical forest to meet a unicorn and a fairy who was riding it. The fairy said that she could help The Deer and The Oxen to become humans again but they need to bring her a specific amulet. We showed them a painting of the unknown Queen of a far away land wearing this amulet. The Deer and The Oxen decided to find the artist who painted the picture. With her magic wand The Fairy opened a portal to a far-away land and our friends found themselves at an Eastern bazaar in front of the bakery...

«Elephant in the room is a term used to describe couples having a relationship crisis when there’s a certain problem that is painfully obvious yet no one dares to start a conversation to discuss it.

The short story “Hills Like White Elephants” by focuses on a conversation between an American man and a young woman at a Spanish train station. There’s definitely an 🐘 in that conversation. Have you noticed it?
