The Faculty of Philology of Tomsk state university was the first in Siberia to have accepted foreign students who wish to study the Russian language. Students from all over the world (China, Egypt, Côte d'Ivoire, Tunis, Poland, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Korea, Mongolia, Spain, the USA, Colombia, Turkmenistan, and many others) come here to train in various programs at preparatory department, to get the Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees or to take postgraduate courses. In 2004 the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation enrolled Tomsk state university in the list of the organizations having right to examine foreign citizens in Russian language for the purpose of acquiring Russian citizenship, and also ex*****on of labor activity in its territory. Breakthrough (А1); 120 hours, duration – 4 months;
Waystage (А2); 120 hours, duration – 4 months;
Topic programs (one program consists of 20 sessions, duration – 3 months):
News from Russia; 40 hours, duration – 1 month;
Culture and the society of contemporary Russia; 40 hours, duration – 1 month. Program "Breakthrough" (А1) — this is an elementary course of learning Russian as a foreign language. Completing the course you will be able to:
- build vocabulary up to 1000 units;
- read the adapted texts of social, educational and cultural content;
- read and understand the names of cities, streets on maps, shop signs, announcements restaurants menus, and the like;
- comprehend by ear Russian speech (80-100 words) and to have small talks;
- get acquainted with the features of Russian etiquette and to learn a lot of interesting things about life in Russia nowadays. Price of this course is 18700 rubles (near 567$). Program "Waystage" (А2) is intended for people with elementary knowledge of Russian. Completing the course you will be able to:
- build vocabulary up to 1300 units concerning social a cultural spheres of communication;
- read the adapted texts of social, educational and cultural content (600 — 700 words) focusing on general comprehension of the problem;
- comprehend by ear monologs (300 — 400 words) and dialogues (250 — 300 words);
- deepen knowledge of the Russian language structure;
- learn a lot of new things about life in Russia nowadays. "News from Russia", "Culture and the society of contemporary Russia" Topical programs are intended for:
- foreign students with elementary and intermediate knowledge of Russian language;
