National Pet Day 🐾❤️
🐈All of us love our precious pets, since they’re some of the most excellent companions people can have and make a living each day just a little bit better
🦴National Pet Day celebrates the joy that pets bring into peoples lives and encourages people to help reduce the number of animals in shelters. Bringing humans and animals together helps make the world a better and kinder place!
There are many ways how to spend this day: for example, you can please your beloved pet with a new toy! Or you can celebrate National Pet Day by adopting a pet from a local shelter. Don’t forget that adopting an animal can become the greatest gift ever received in your life and can help save lives🕊
Sincerely yours, ESN SPbSU🐇

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women🎐
This day is inextricably linked with the date November 25, 1960, when the political activists of the Mirabal sisters were brutally murdered. Their only crime was to participate in the struggle for their rights and overthrow the regime of the Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo
🌀Do you know?
One in three women and girls experiences physical violence at least once in their lives. And after the outbreak of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, the number of cases of violence against women and girls has increased. That is why it is so important to take active action to end violence against women🦋
One of the most famous examples of such actions is the movement, founded by activist Tarana Burke in 2006
⚖️ Remember that violence against women is an obstacle to building an inclusive, sustainable and prosperous society🕊
With love for harmony and the world around us,

International Day for Tolerance 🦊
International Day for Tolerance, celebrated on 16 November, was created by the United Nations to help foster mutual understanding among cultures and peoples.
Tolerance and understanding lie at the core of the United Nations Charter, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
🥕Why International Day for tolerance is important?
It’s educational, brings us together, and it reminds us that it should be an ever present practice 🌱
🥕How to observe International Day for tolerance?
Try starting a conversation with someone with a differing viewpoint, you’ll likely find you have more in common than you expected!
On a regular basis you can follow these two simple steps:
🤍Read articles or books and watch movies about different cultures
🤍Listen to neighbors who have different viewpoints
Don’t forget: tolerance helps in personal development by opening yourself to listen to others and their ways of thinking🕊

Combining useful with pleasant is easy! Come to Art Therapy 🎨🍃
Art therapy is a well-known technique in combatting stress. According to psychologists, during drawing, a subconscious is connected, thanks to which you can understand yourself, driving the motives of your actions and the origins of fears.
Understanding is at the heart of the decision!
Art therapy will be held in the "PROSTO" coworking - it is a free youth space equipped with everything necessary for study and work. Here they come to discuss future projects, hold events of student organisations and prepare for the session.
Art therapy will take place:
🗓️November 4 (Fri)
⏰ 18:00 - 20:00
📍Coworking "PROSTO"

The United Nations Day is celebrated all over the world on 24th October to commemorate the anniversary of the official creation of the UN 🌏
As World War II was about to end, representatives of 50 countries gathered at the United Nations Conference on International Organization in San Francisco from 25 April to 26 June 1945. For the next two months, they proceeded to draft and then sign the UN Charter, which created a new international organization — the United Nations 🕊
It is an official day to remind of the importance of:
- Diversity
- The cooperative spirit among nations
- Equality
- Peace
- Unity
- Universal respect for justice and international law
- Human rights, fundamental freedoms
🌱 What does it mean to be ‘united’? 🤍
To be united means trying to live in a harmony and working together through thick and thin. All countries united with one purpose formed the United Nations in 1945. And we must try to do everything possible to maintain the same spirit and unity for the common good.
Let’s join our forces and make the world a more united place!
With love for our diversity, different cultures, religions and just humanity, ESN SPbSU✌🏼

From Russia with love ❤️
Various symbolic gifts are brought from Russia: ear flaps with felt boot, balalaikas and even samovars. But the most common and distinctive souvenir for Russia is the matryoshka🪆
You can create your own unique, unlike other souvenirs. Reflect on it all your impressions of travelling to Russia, to tell vivid stories with drawings! To do this, come to a matryoshka master class.
⏰22 October, 18:00-19:00
📍19 Griboyedov Canal Embankment
💸1,500 rubles
At the master class you will debunk the myths about Matryoshka, get acquainted with its history and create your own, which you can then take home!
🖇️ To take part in the master class, register at:https://esn-spbsu-event.timepad.ru/event/2204822/
❗️Please note that the time to register for the event is limited ❗️

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty ☔️
The fight to eradicate poverty is one of the main moral challenges of our time. Poverty consists not only of low income, but also of a lack of resources for livelihood, hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education, social discrimination and exclusion.
The history of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is inextricably linked with the date of October 17, 1987. On that day, more than a hundred thousand people gathered at the Trocadero Square in Paris, where the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was signed in 1948, to pay tribute to the victims of extreme poverty, violence and hunger.
Some statistics🪁
☁️ According to the international classification, today more than 700 million people live below the poverty line;
☁️ The majority of people living in poverty are citizens of two regions of the world: South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa;
☁️ High poverty rates are most often inherent in small states with fragile economies or countries prone to conflict.
Where a person is forced to live in poverty, the rights of the individual are violated, so any actions aimed at eradicating it make our world a better place.
