Info-session on the hybrid format of International Polytechnic Summer School 2021
Citizens of 29 countries can travel to Russia and study any of the scheduled 40 summer courses at SPbPU.

Agenda:
- info-session on the hybrid format of summer school, student visa and travelling options, discounts and outdoor activities,(speakers: Darina Klimova and Zarina Asadova, Summer School managers).
- a virtual walking tour in the city center of St. Petersburg (speaker: Taisiya Tetyusheva, a native inhabitant of SPb and a friend of the university).

The live session will be also restreamed from 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲. You can join it either on Zoom or Facebook - what you feel more comfortable with!

One of the goals of our team is to show you our beautiful city and share with you everything that inspires us.

We’ll start with one of the most
spectacular events of this year which took place in St. Petersburg from December 9 to March 14.

The State Hermitage Museum in collaboration with the Cecil Beaton ‘s Studio Archive has developed an exhibition entitled «Cecil Beaton: Celebrating Celebrity».

Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton is a famous English photographer, designer and artist who won the hearts of millions of people with his work.

The exhibition was held in Russia for the first time. More than 100 of Beaton's works could be seen in the General Staff Building. It is noteworthy that the exposition also featured works by the photographer dedicated to Russian ballet. This emphasizes the connection between Cecil Beaton and Russia.

During his life, the English artist created unbelievable works that amaze people to this day. It was important for him to capture something extraordinary on film. Through the lens of the camera, he examined the characters of people and captured them.

We are very proud that St. Petersburg was given the honor to host the heritage of the greatest master-photographers of the 20th century and wish the international exhibition good luck in the next city!

The head of the IT department of the International Polytechnic Winter School shared the key trends in the programs 📊

In 2021, the International Polytechnic Winter School focuses heavily on the topic of information technology. Nearly 60 international students are enrolled in programs devoted to big data, machine learning, and cyber-physical systems 💻

We met with Vyacheslav POTEKHIN, the head of the IT section of the International Polytechnic Winter School, associate professor of the Higher School of Cyber-physical Systems and Control, director of the SPbPU-FESTO MSC to find out what skills students need to have to participate in the programs, how the practical training takes place and what projects participants work on, what they will become familiar with after training and what professions they can master in the future.
