Sticks and Circles

In our learning program, we have a subject called Pencil Control. At first glance, it may seem like a small or simple activity — but in truth, it is anything but.

In our new post, we share why we give this practice such special attention:

✏️ Fine motor skills build thinking and speech
By developing small hand movements, we support brain development and the speech center.

✏️ Focus and hand–eye coordination
The eye follows the line, the brain processes it, and the hand carries out the command. This skill is the foundation for reading, problem-solving, sports, and so much more.

✏️ Readiness for writing
Pressure control, confident lines, and changing direction — all of this is practiced long before a child writes their first letters. This makes the transition to handwriting calm and stress-free.

✏️ Confidence
“I did it! I helped the bunny find the carrot!” — these small victories build self-belief and prepare children for bigger challenges ahead.

Mazes, paths, tracing, and drawing extensions — mix activities, choose themes your child loves, and spark genuine interest in the process.

But in truth, it’s pure magic, only we’ve grown used to it.

Behind every picture lies a century-long story of inventions, daring experiments, and people brave enough to chase the impossible.

We visited *Rosphoto* and were genuinely astonished by the history behind something that feels so ordinary today.

We followed the entire journey of photography:
from the very first image ever taken to the nineteenth-century prototypes of VR glasses.
We learned why early cameras needed real bellows and what the very first portable cameras looked like.

And the best part — everything could be *experienced.*
With the help of modern technology, we quite literally stepped inside an antique camera and created our own digital prints in the style of those earliest photographic techniques.

This museum is an absolute must-visit for children!

We left completely inspired!

We make pretend-play a regular part of our routine, especially with the youngest children. As we’ve said, it’s a wonderful tool for child development — and a great way to practise English. Wonderful? Wonderful!
