🔹“The International Financial Reporting Standards” course🔹
✏️When conducting international business, the company's business practices must be transparent to all participants in the global financial market. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are a set of international accounting standards aimed to have a "common language" of accounting, because business standards and accounting may differ from company to company and from country to country. IFRS maintain stability and transparency in the financial world, allow investors to make qualified financial decisions.
✏️The IFRS course was conducted for first-year students of "Quantitative Finance" and seemed to them quite interesting, but at the same time challenging. In the classroom, students studied the most commonly used standards and in practice classes were able to try their hand at solving tasks that occur on the ACCA exam. The course lecturer, Anastasia Bychkova, is an employee of the international consulting company Deloitte, who was happy to share her rich experience in auditing with students.
✏️Students share their positive impressions of the course. It is noted that the course helped the students understand the basics of international reporting and proved that accounting can be interesting.

🔹"Sustainable systems management" course from a professor from a leading university in Indonesia🔹
Dr. Mohammed Ali Berawi, Professor of the University of Indonesia, Director of the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure Development (CSID) and Director of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) University Network for Sustainable City and Urban Development (AUN – SCUD) gave a series of lectures for our Quantitative Finance students.
📌The course program was devoted to the study of the concept of sustainable development in the context of the modern economy and the daily life of a person of the 21st century and the idea of a smart city.
📌The result of the fruitful work of students and professors was the development of projects corresponding to the theme of sustainable development. Thus, students of the Quantitative Finance group developed a project on «Development and justification of a management decision on the example of Rosneft».
📣Nikita Sklyarov, 2nd year Master's student in Quantitative Finance: "Back in the first semester, when our group took part in an international conference, I noticed Professor Ali Berawi. Then I was very interested in his research topic on sustainable development. For 3 months, Professor Bervey gave us a very interesting course that reflects my current range of interests, so the knowledge gained during the lectures is very valuable to me. All the students presented ambitious projects, and I think they will agree that this was one of the most interesting courses we had."

🇩🇪 Foreign Experience 🇩🇪
An exchange semester is an exciting experience that will bring variety to student life. All students of the Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University have the opportunity to spend an unforgettable semester in another country, travel, and expand their professional competencies.
✈Our students Kseniia and Maya took advantage of the opportunity and went to BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in Germany as part of the Erasmus+ program.
✈Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg is located in the small town of Cottbus in Eastern Germany, 130 km from Berlin. The girls live in a comfortable dormitory located across the street from the university, so they spend 5 minutes on the road for classes. The study takes place in a hybrid format, but most often in person if the students are vaccinated or have a PCR tes
✈Ksenia and Maya note that the teaching process is slightly different from Russian practice. Most often, the professor uploads an online recording of the lecture, students study the material in advance and discuss it in class. Based on this, classes are held in an interactive form and students communicate a lot with each other and the lecturer.
✈One of the main advantages of studying is a student transport card, which allows you to travel by train on land Brandenburg for free. Thanks to this, the girls have already visited Berlin several times, Dresden, Potsdam, and the charming suburbs of Cottbus.
🌍 If you still have questions about the exchange semester experience, do not hesitate to ask in the comments!🌍
