Recently I’ve found myself in the world of art, reading about different movements in art🎨
So, I’ve decided to tell you about British painters. Of course, this is an endless topic, and I’ve chosen few “must-know” painters😍 The first of them is....

Thomas Gainsborough (1727-1788)👨‍🎨
⠀
He was the youngest of nine children in wool manufacturer’s family. His father was impressed by his talent and allowed him to move to London alone when he was only 13👦🎨

Preferred painting landscapes🌅 but demand on them was low back then, therefore he had to paint portraits👩👨
Interestingly, he tried to combine the two genres in some of his works. Being a prominent portrait painter, he was invited to paint a portrait of King George III and Queen Charlotte and became one of the favorite Royal Family’s painters👸🤴

Was one of 36 founding members of the Royal Academy of Arts. However, after a disagreement at one of the exhibitions in 1783 he removed all his works from the Academy and exhibited them at his house.

For me it's an airport and its unique atmosphere.

Let's discuss London airports today✈️
I assume you know Heathrow but in fact there are 6 international airports in London: Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Southend and City🙈 As well as other 15+ airports not serving general flights.

The six airports together serve more than a half of the UK air traffic.
⠀
Heathrow is known to be the biggest and the busiest airport in Europe🐝
It has 4 terminals as well as its own police, ambulance and even vet service🐶
Opened in 1929, it was not the first London airport, though.
⠀
The first was Croydon, which existed in 1920-1959. Known these days by few people, it used to be the UK major and only international airport between the world wars.
If you got interested, Royal Air Force Museum in London, located on former Hendon Aerodrome is a place definitely worth attending :)

Он включает 4 терминала, в которых есть своя полиция, скорая помощь и даже ветеринарная служба🐶

Однако первым аэропортом Лондона был не Хитроу, а Кройдон, действовавший с 1920 по 1959 годы.
