Scientists believe that the chicken takes the line for a snake and pretends to be dead. In 1872, there was an invasion of rodents in Jamaica and mongooses were brought there to combat this problem. But they turned out to be real gluttons: they exterminated not only rats, but also frogs, lizards and even birds. Now Jamaica's main problem is mongooses. Professor Al an Portman of the Zoological Institute in Basel invented the scale of intelligence for animals. According to the experiment, the most stupid was the hippopotamus, who scored only 18 points out of 200.

Much is known about the great Siberian miracle - Lake Baikal - the deepest lake in the world and the largest source of fresh water on the planet. But still, some surprising facts: there are 23 thousand cubic km of water in Baikal and all the largest rivers in the world - Volga, Don, Dnieper, Yenisei, Ural, Ob, Ganges, Orinoco, Amazon, Thames, Seine and Oder - should flow for almost a year, to fill a basin equal in volume to Lake Baikal. And there are so many fish here that after catching all the fish on Lake Baikal and distributing it to the Russians, everyone will receive more than 1 kg of fish. And the coastline of Lake Baikal has the same distance as from Turkey to Moscow.
