Debates are back 🌟
It feels like light years since we had a fiery discussion with you lovely people!
We can’t convey how very much we’re looking forward to seeing you all at 7pm tomorrow at Центр Добрососедства Театров «Дом».
As unusual, the motion will be announced 15 min before. But, there is no cause to worry. During these trying times we are taking special precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. 🌸

This Sunday will be our final debate of the year. Embracing the Christmas spirit, we’ll be focusing not on what divides us, but rather what brings us together 🌟

Where: Mayakovskaya Library (please bring your library card to take books out— this library needs our support!)
PS There will be a Christmas after party at a cafe nearby. Let me know if you’d like to join in the fun!

We’re planning something special for Christmas 🌟 But before then, why not brush up on your empathetic communication skills by attending a workshop on non-violent communication (an exceptionally helpful method developed by Marshall Rosenberg). Improving your ability to identify the shared ground in a debate and, most importantly, changing the way you approach any conflict— this certainly won’t be a waste of your Sunday evening!

British Debates x Гражданин Политолог

Do you relish a juicy dispute? A fiery exchange? Do your neurons fire in delight when you’re challenged to take a stance for issues you believe in?
If so, then come put your persuasive skills to the test while practicing your English at Гражданин Политолог’s first debating workshop.
This Saturday, we will cover the rules of formal debate and the foundations of persuasion followed by a lively debate where you’ll have the opportunity to practice what you’ve learnt on stage!

British Debates x Гражданин Политолог / События на TimePad.ru Speak about global issues and defend your point of view in this weekend’s debate workshop. Expect to learn more about effective argumentation, rational critique and speech writing while getting plenty of English practice.

Last weekend’s debate in Mihailovsky Park was unusually laid-back for our club. Even though the picnic was delicious, I wonder if some are missing the formal grandeur of the library. Let us know if you are and we’ll look into organising a few debates there.

Exams have ended and, as promised, debates will begin 😆
We’ll have our first debate this Sunday at 18:00 in Mihailovsky Park (or Dyadya Fadi if it 🌧). More details tomorrow.
But, if you’re looking to escape the city and do something good for the planet, I’d love to see you tomorrow at a lake clean up in Toksovo. There will be a vegetarian barbecue and we’ll all go swimming after cleaning up the beach. Here’s all the info:

Hello Strangers!
It’s been awhile...we know. As Jielan is stil busy studying for exams, we won’t be having a debate this weekend. There is, however, good news! There’s plenty of wonderful things to do this weekend (check out the list below). If any of you lovely people would like to keep me company, I’ll be going to an event at 19:00 tonight on the social democratic systems of our Nordic neighbours. Saturday will start with an outdoor Zumba/fitness class at 12:00, then I’ll be going to Svekabel port for a print festival. Sunday will be spent in the park by Gorkovskaya enjoying outdoor dance classes. Let me know if you want to meet up and please do share if you’ve heard of any fascinating events.
