The deepest lake in the world.
Heading “Places to visit” was quite popular in our poll. Today we will tell you about the deepest lake in the world.
Lake Baikal is located in southern Siberia in Russia. The largest depth of this lake is 1642 meters. Baikal has a huge square too. It is 31 722 km2, which is comparable with the square of Belgium or the Netherlands.
The amount of fresh water in this lake is incredible. It is more than in the Great Lakes altogether.
Baikal is also famous for its purity. It is connected with unique creatures that live in this lake only. It is called Epischura Baikalensis. And It has amazing skills in cleaning the water.
Water in Baikal is freezing cold even in summer. It might be +30, but the water stays about 8-9 degrees, and it's even colder in the depth.
There are many other interesting details about this lake, some of which are still being studied. You might see blue ice, plenty of endemic animals and plants, terrific rocks there. It is hard to get there, but this lake is worth it.

Koschei the Deathless
Evil wizard whose life is hidden in different objects and animals which are lying in each other. (Hm, that reminds us something 🤔, Any guesses?).
