The MEPhI women's rugby team took place in the Snow Rugby festival on February 12 in Zelenograd.
“Athletes from MEPhI, not being afraid of the cold fought to the last in the quarterfinals. None of the teams left without our attempts. Our team took second place in the silver playoffs of the festival, losing only one attempt to the winners,” said Igor Shcherbakov, head of the MEPhI Rugby Club.
The annual Snow Rugby festival was held for the 11th time this year. This tradition was not interrupted even in the winter of 2020, when there was no snow. It was Zelenograd where the world's first snow rugby tournaments were held.

Leading Russian scientists and engineers are discussing the design of cyber-physical devices and systems at the First Scientific and Practical Conference "Physico-Technical Intelligent Systems - 2022" (FTIS-2022), which takes place on February 8-10 at MEPhI.
The plenary session was opened by MEPhI Rector and Chairman of the Conference Program Committee Vladimir Shevchenko. He noted that the conference was the first in a series of major scientific events to be held in the year of the 80th anniversary of the university.
Among the main thematic areas of the conference are the design of cyber-physical devices and systems, their operation in applied geophysics, process automation, robotics, space research, nuclear medicine, global smart systems, environmental monitoring and radiation safety.

Employees of the Laboratory of Nano-Bioengineering (LNBE) of the MEPhI, together with colleagues from other universities, have developed a drug delivery system based on fluorescent microcapsules for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
