We're thrilled to share a recap of our participation in the 2nd Asia Pacific Vis Pre Moot, as part of the 20th Vis East / 30th Vis Moot season! Over 100 teams from around the globe competed in this online event, held from 7-12 February 2023.

Our team had the privilege of participating in 4 rounds, facing off against teams from Tsinghua University (China), NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad (India), University of Notre Dame (US), and Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are proud of our team's performance.

We are excited to share the next update about our 2022/23 Vis Moot journey!

Early this February 2023, the our team of the students of the Russian School of Private Law participated in the 9th Lazareff Le Bars Vis Pre-Moot held in Dubai. We had four rounds with teams from Lloyd Law College (India), Middlesex University Dubai (UAE), and with our friends from Higher School of Economics Vis Moot Team (Russia). It was an amazing experience for us.

Playing with these teams was a great pleasure, and we learned a lot from each round, receiving positive feedback from our arbitrators. Egor Loginov, our team member on procedure, was an honorable mention as one of the best speakers in the first round.

Overall, this 9th Lazareff Le Bars Vis Pre-Moot gave us an excellent opportunity to improve our skills and gain more knowledge in a person-to-person setting. We want to thank the organizers for putting together such a fantastic event and look forward to participating again in the future!

In mid-December 2022 and January 2023, our team successfully drafted and submitted both memoranda for the claimant and respondent in the 20th Vis East Moot Competition.

Our team worked tirelessly to research, analyze, and present our arguments in a clear and concise manner. Regardless of the outcome, we are proud of what we have accomplished as a team and are excited for future opportunities to showcase our legal skills gained in the Vis Moot.

It is never too late to make the very last submission for the 28th Vis Moot

Despite the challenges of this season, this was an incredible experience for our mooties during oral rounds — Margarita Drobyshevskaya, Margarita Klementeva, and Alina Shabalina — who held exciting sessions with University of Maribor, University of Turin, Australian Catholic University, East China University of Political Science and Law at the end of March in virtual Vienna.

During this season, the team participated in 9 pre-moots (e.g., in virtual Geneva, Nur-Sultan, Sri Lanka, Moscow, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, and Paris) as well as in numerous practice rounds with teams from different parts of the world.

Special thanks to our coaches Vera Bykova, Ksenia Zbyshevskaya, and Khasanshin Marat. We are extremely grateful for your dedication. It was an honor for us to have been your mooties.

We would like to introduce the 28th Willem C. Vis Russian School of Private Law Moot Team.

This year our coaches are Vera Bykova, Ksenia Zbyshevskaya and Marat Khasanshin.

Another challengeable Vis Moot season has come to an end!

Despite all the difficulties organizers arranged unprecedented online final pleadings with 249 teams from all around the world.

Russian School of Private Law Vis-moot team (Ksenia Zbyshevskaya, Khasanshin Marat, Anna Nadbitova and Dmitriy Gusev) held tough and exciting sessions with Vis Moot Freiburg, Cornell University, Dar Al-Hekma University, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam teams!

This Vis Moot season was remarkable for our team. We made a very big step forward in our performance and developing moot traditions in the Russian School of Private Law. We express our gratitude to our coaches — Vera Bykova and Dimitriy Mednikov — for sharing these 6 months with us and our asymmetric arbitration clauses, Professor John's report and turbines' non-conformity issues.
