For those students who are interested in studying Russian but have doubts about coming to Russia, we are offering an alternate Russian Language Program in Riga, Latvia. The program costs $3300 for 8 weeks, and a visa is not needed.
The program run by our partners in Riga corresponds to the Moscow Language Program, which allows for a third option: students can stay in Riga for half of the program and then continue in Moscow.
Riga – the capital of Latvia – has traditionally been a Russian-speaking city. The majority of Riga's population speaks Russian natively. You will find Russian spoken everywhere.
Riga is the perfect hub to visit major European cities, such as Berlin, Krakow or Vienna.
Riga is beautiful city with a rich history. Riga's historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Riga and neighboring Yurmala constitute one of the largest resorts on the Baltic Sea.

Academic (unpaid) internships may be requested in different Russian/international companies and organizations in such areas as banking, marketing, consulting, law, NGOs, think-tanks, museums, art galleries, etc.
Volunteer opportunities are also available in orphanages, hospitals, nursing homes, and hostels. Students may also volunteer at cultural and recreational events.

The program cost is $3500, which includes: study materials, excursions, housing, visa support, and transfer from the airport to the Russian Presidential Academy. Students requiring additional course hours may prolong their program for an additional cost of $200 per 16 hours of instruction.
At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate confirming their completion of a 120-hour Russian language course, which may later be presented to colleges for credit.
Students participating in academic internship and volunteer opportunities will be provided with additional certificates of appreciation, indicating the amount of hours worked.

A 120-hour Russian Language Course is available at 3 levels:
Elementary: designed for students without any prior knowledge of Russian.
Intermediate: designed for students who have completed one or two years of college-level Russian and are looking to develop proficiency in conversation. Intermediate students may be divided into sub-groups, depending on their placement test results.
Advanced: designed for students focused on business/professional Russian who are looking to refine their language skills and achieve fluency.
Lecture series (in English) on contemporary Russian history, economy, and foreign policy, read by Russia’s leading experts and active government officials.
