🌾In ancient times, in the month of April, the Slavic people began their agricultural activities. The ground was already warm and flavored with melted snow🌾

🏞️As you know, the Slavs used to be pagans. They believed in omens and they worshipped many different gods.

☀Before starting their work in the fields, the Slavs made offerings to the sun god Yarilo and to Leyla, the goddess of spring and youth.

🍞Pancakes and other pastries served as offerings to the gods. The Slavs also glorified their gods and cajoled them with beautiful words and prayers.

🕊️It was believed that migratory birds bring warmth in spring and their arrival was waited upon with great anticipation. To hasten the return of the birds, the housewives baked birds
from dough.

🌼Happy and warm spring!🌼

📚Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol was a great Russian writer, the author of
many wonderful works.

🔮The entire life of the writer was one big mystery. Mysticism, something
supernatural and the inexplicability, literally followed him around. Even
after his death, more questions than answers were left behind, as well as numerous
legends.

👃One of the most famous legends is associated with his big nose. In reality,
Gogol was strikingly different from his portraits. The writer was
always dissatisfied with his appearance and requested artists to distort
reality somewhat. In the paintings, the author is depicted with a much smaller nose and due to this, the entire image of Nikolai
Vasilyevich's face was changed.

📚🔥The most famous work of Nikolai Gogol is the poem "Dead Souls". Many
people are aware that the writer wanted to publish a second volume.
However, he burned the book. No one knows what influenced this
decision.

⚡Gogol was an extremely superstitious, fearful and insecure person.
Sometimes he brought himself to a state of panic and fear by an irrational
attitude to reality.

📚Many literary critics have labeled the writer as crazy. Gogol
decided to starve himself to death. Remaining outwardly calm, the genius took
revenge on all those who doubted his talent, for even one minute.

🌞Maslenitsa week has started this week in Russia and in some other countries.

🎆Maslenitsa is one of the most interesting, long-awaited, fun and most "delicious" holidays of the year🎆

❄🌼According to the established tradition, the holiday is celebrated for seven days. Traditionally, this week people visit each other and prepare delicious treats. Fairs unfold on some streets, where they sell delicious dishes and crafts and hold fun events.
Maslenitsa was celebrated long before the adoption of Christianity in Russia. It was "Seeing off Winter". Nature was awakening from its winter sleep. The snows were melting. A new life cycle was beginning.

🎶💃People prepared for the holiday in advance. A thorough cleaning of one’s dwelling was carried out. People got rid of everything unnecessary and old, and then had fun all week. Almost all week people danced, played and sang songs.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, people spent all the time with family and close friends.
After a week of revelry, Lent begins. It will last until Easter.

🏔 The Ural Mountains stretch from north to south for two thousand kilometers.

🗺 From the point of view of geography, the Ural Mountains do not belong to either Europe or Asia, as they are a barrier between them.

🌏 Previously, it was believed that the Ural Mountains mark the end of the world, with nothing beyond.

⌛ The oldest mountain on the planet is Karandash Mountain, which is the part of the Ural Mountain Range. Geologists estimate its age at about 4.2 billion years.

🟡 The first Russian gold was found in the Urals. Many minerals were first discovered in the Ural Mountains.

💎 The Ural malachite became famous all over the world.

🗻 The lakes Uvildy, Bolshoy Kisegach and Turgoyak have unusually clear water. It is muddy in other lakes of the Urals. Scientists have not yet found an explanation for the mysterious natural phenomenon.

⛓️ In 1996, the Yugyd Va National Park, together with the Pechoro-Ilychsky Reserve, was included in the UNESCO list under the name "Virgin Komi Forests".
