We are proud to once more announce March's student of the month: Noa, from grade 10! Noa enchanted us all with her excellent performance at the Valentines Day assembly- through combining a variety of love songs, she made a single piece that was astoundingly lovely. We hope Noa pursues her obvious talent, and hope to hear more from her in the future. March's teacher of the month is Ms. Will, for her tireless efforts in this busy time of year for both grades 11 and 12 as well as for always having chocolates in her office. We appreciate your work and its lasting impacts.

We wish Leonardo the best fortune in the future and hope that he continues to exceed all of our expectations. January's Teacher of the Month is Mr. Gray, nominated for his efforts in helping all HS students, but especially the grade 12s with the college application process. The November Teacher of the Month is Ms. Hogwood, who set aside her new position as Gifted and Talented Program Coordinator to teach her English and Literature classes. These classes are still waiting for Ms. Playfair (the new English teacher) to receive her visa and arrive. Ms. Hogwood has sacrificed her time and effort to help her pre-IB and IB Diploma students in their study of Literature, but has now moved on to her "real job." We are sad to see her go, but are thankful for her years of service, help, and for the wisdom she has no doubt imparted on all her students.

*Student/Teacher of the Month is our new campaign, through which we recognize members of the AAS community who stood out in a given month. Comment or let StuCo reps know if you think you know who the next Student and Teacher of the Month should be :)

We are proud to announce November's Student of the Month: Alix, from grade 9! Alix fosters her passion for writing by spending a significant time each day working on a novel; she has even entered writing competitions. We wish Sasha the best of luck in her endeavors and believer her independent writing exemplifies a true love for learning.

The Student and Teacher of the Month for October are Paul and Mr. Thornley! Paul (grade 10) has been recognized for his dedication to his studies of music - in order to graduate from a Russian music school, he leaves from 3rd and 4th block every day to attend classes there, yet still manages to serve as an exemplary student to all in his grade. Mr. Thornley made the effort to spend every day after school with his 9th and 10th grade students who need help and has organized Saturday study sessions for his IB Chemistry students. Keep up the excellent effort, and thank you to your contribution to the AAS spirit and community!
