We invite to take part in the program Teach and Travel in Moscow from Sep 2015! The program will allow you to discover Moscow, to learn more about Russia, meet lots of great people from all over the world and share your culture! During your stay you will be teaching English to Russian students. Requirements:
Native English speaker or highly proficient
Ready to move to Moscow and stay there for the full duration of the project (4-12 months)
Ability to teach English
Willingness to know Russia and to learn more about Russian culture
Good intercultural communicational skills
Stress-resistance
Tasks:
Designing the program of teaching
Teaching individually and in groups
Sometimes – conducting seminars about own culture
Duration of the program – 4-12 months. You can indicate the amount of months you’re willing to apply at the moment of the application. During the project you can change the duration of your participation. You will be provided:
Visa support
Russian language course
Friendly international environment of the organization
Possibility to learn any other language from the ones that are taught at the organization
Personal supervisor
Basic training for teaching languages
Holidays (the exact days are discussed with the organizations)
Financial arrangements:
Depending on the amount of teaching hours per week (the hours of actual teaching without including preparation) the following options are available:
6 hours of teaching per week – we cover only visa costs (this option might be available for teachers of other languages as well)
12 hours of teaching per week – we cover visa costs and provide accommodation
20 hours of teaching per week – we cover visa costs, provide accommodation and provide monthly allowance of 10 000 RUB
You can choose yourself which of the mentioned above options is suitable for you and indicate it in your application. Changing of the option during the project is also possible but only in accordance with the mutual agreement with the organization. NGO “The Institute of Humanitarian Development” (http://ihumd.ru/) is based in Moscow. It’s hosting volunteers within European Volunteer Service (EVS) and other programs as well. Usual activities are: teaching languages, conducting trainings on intercultural development, organizing seminars about cultures of different countries etc. Teaching in Moscow with us it’s not only teaching experience – it’s a great cultural exchange when you’ll share your culture and learn more about Russia, meet new friends from all over the world!
