Skoltech will host the first Russian Science Film Laboratory, supported by a Ministry of Culture grant. 🎬👩🔬
The laboratory is launched by CSFF Festival team and director Julia Kiseleva to improve the industry of science and pop-science film production in Russia. During the first phase of the program, filmmakers will get a taste of how science is made and meet the researchers they will later work with. At this stage, the laboratory will become a melting pot for an interdisciplinary community of scientists and filmmakers. The ultimate result envisioned by the lab is an almanac of 15 short movies, which will hit the screens: sciencedoclab.com

⚡ Skoltech in the CNN: leading research scientist Evgeny Chuvilin gave perspective on the paper about degradation of submarine permafrost:
Holes the size of city blocks are forming in the Arctic seafloor
Marine scientists have discovered deep sinkholes -- including one larger than a city block of six-story buildings -- and ice-filled hills that have formed "extraordinarily" rapidly on a remote part of the Arctic seafloor.
