Russian University of Transport - RUT MIIT

The Russian University of Transport (MIIT) and the Ministry of Transport and Roads of Tatarstan signed a cooperation agreement.

The ceremony took place on January 25 at the final meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan.

The document was signed by the head of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic Farit Khanifov and the rector of the Russian University of Transport Alexander Klimov.

The agreement implies cooperation in the development of methodological recommendations, analysis of road transport infrastructure, comprehensive approaches to modeling industry infrastructure facilities and forecasting passenger flows in Tatarstan. Within the framework of the agreement, it is also planned to implement joint educational programs in the network form.

On January 26, 2022, the Russian University of Transport held an online meeting with representatives of the Wuhan University of Technology (UTU).

The meeting discussed the development of international scientific cooperation, the implementation of academic mobility of graduate students and providing them with the opportunity to conduct their research under the joint supervision of two supervisors, one from UTU and one from a partner university abroad.
Strengthening international relations in the field of education and science is an important aspect of the effective development of the university. The Russian University of Transport cooperates with leading universities in China. RUT (MIIT) has 2,000 foreign students from 44 countries. Preparations are underway for 25 educational programs together with international partner universities.

The Russian University of Transport resumes full-time education for foreign students from all countries.

According to the new algorithm, all RUT (MIIT) students from all over the world can come to Russia for full-time study!

Face-to-face admission campaign has started at Russian University of Transport

Along with the online format, applicants are able to apply to the University in-person from the 20th of July.

Now, the documents can be sent via your personal account on the official website and/or via postal operators, or can be brought personally. This year, applicants of RUT (MIIT) are able to apply for 35 training programs of bachelor's degree, 11 – specialist’s degree and 24 – master's degree.

RUT (MIIT) projects are reflected in the Voluntary national review for the UN

The opening of the UNESCO chair "Ethics of science and technology, sustainable development and transport systems" and the functioning of the Resource training and methodological center-these projects of the Russian University of transport are reflected in the Voluntary national review of Russia's achievement of the UN sustainable development goals.

On June 26, 2020, the first Voluntary national review of the achievement of the UN sustainable development goals was published on The United Nations website. Russia, as a UN member-state, has supported the global sustainable development agenda for the period up to 2030.

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has instructed the Russian University of Transport to conduct an analysis on the adaptation of sustainable development goals, as well as solving problems in the transport industry by means of transport education. The transport industry and its activities are fully reflected in most sections of the review. The work on the preparation of the Voluntary national review continued throughout the year, starting in February 2019.

The Institute of international transport communications of the Russian University of Transport took part in the work of 17 thematic groups. The result was the preparation of Voluntary national review of the implementation of the agenda for sustainable development for the period up to 2030.

The Russian University of Transport was included in all the presented groups, whose activities were conducted under the leadership of the Analytical center under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Russian University of Transport entered the list of 100 best universities according to Forbes

The Russian University of Transport was included in the list of “Universities for the future elite: 100 best Russian universities according to Forbes - 2020"

In 2019, the university ranked 96th. According to the results of the past year, the University has risen by 59 positions.

The rating "Universities for the future elite: 100 best Russian universities according to Forbes-2020" takes into account the following criteria-the quality of education, the quality of graduates and the Forbes factor. The three leaders included the Higher School of Economics, Moscow State University and MIPT.

The leading national transport university - the Russian University of Transport, whose founder is the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, is called the largest industry university in Russia, the base center for personnel and scientific support for the development of the transport industry. The total number of students is more than 88 thousand people, including about 28 thousand people under higher education programs; under programs of secondary vocational education - more than 5 thousand people.

The university consists of three academies, seven institutes, three colleges, a gymnasium, a military training center, a sports house, a polyclinic and a Palace of culture.

In 2020, the first graduation of students will take place under the joint bachelor program "Management in Technical Systems" of Russian University of Transport and Zhengzhou Railway Vocational Institute. On June 22 and 25, more than 10 people will defend their graduation thesis. Due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the sanitary-epidemiological situation, as well as the restriction of air traffic, not all students were able to return to Russia. Many of them will defend their diplomas being in China.
Final defending of diploma papers will be held remotely on the Teams App.
In August 2018, a summer school for learning Russian and introduction
to RUT (MIIT) was organized for the first 26 Chinese students as part of a joint higher education project between Russian University of Transport and Zhengzhou Railway Vocational Institute. On September 1, 2018, students began training on the main educational program “Management in Technical Systems”.
Russian University of Transport successfully cooperates with Chinese universities and railway companies in training, conducting joint research involving a wide range of scientists from both universities and representatives of Chinese and Russian railway enterprises. As part of this cooperation, RUT (MIIT) and Zhengzhou Railway Vocational Institute are successfully implementing four-year joint bachelor programs for Chinese students at the Russian University of Transport:
1st and 2nd years - studying at Zhengzhou Railway Vocational Institute with in-depth study of russian language and attracting professors from a Russian university to the educational process;
3rd and 4th years - training in RUT (MIIT).

World Congress on railway education will be held in Moscow for the first time

VI World Congress on railway education of International Union of Railways will take place in September 2021 in Moscow at the Russian University of Transport. It was reported today by the rector of the University Alexander Klimov.
"Russian University of Transport was chosen as the venue for VI World Congress on railway education of International Union of Railways. The corresponding letter of the General Director of the UIC François Davenne was received by the University. Applications for the event were submitted from several countries, particularly cat the final stage there were considered the proposals from Russia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand," - said Alexander Klimov.
According to the rector, the Congress traditionally becomes a platform for discussing the most pressing issues related to the development of personnel potential of the railway industry with the participation of a wide range of leading world companies and educational institutions.
World Congress on railway education is the largest forum in the field of personnel management, education and training of specialists for railway industry, and it takes place once in two years. The Congress is a place for expert discussion of prevailing and promising trends in the field of personnel management, implementation of new technologies in personnel management of railway transport, organization and technology for training of railway specialists.
Previous congresses were held in Spain, Austria, Portugal, Germany and Morocco. Russian University of Transport participated in the last four congresses.
V Congress was held in October 2019 in Rabat (Morocco). It was attended by over 230 representatives of UIC members - railway companies and universities from more than 30 countries, including the Russian delegation of JSC "Russian Railways" and RUT (MIIT).
International Union of Railways is a non-governmental professional association, uniting more than 200 members from more than 100 countries in all regions of the world where are railways. Members include operator and infrastructure railway companies and associations, scientific organizations and universities.

Graduates will traditionally receive university badges

2020 graduates will receive badges of graduation from the Russian University of Transport. The tradition of receiving marks on completion of studies will continue this year. The planned number of graduates of the Russian University of Transport is 5,246 people.

The breastplate of the end of the RUT (MIIT) is a blue-white rhombus in the middle of which is the emblem of the university.

13 graduates of 2020 will be awarded the MIIT silver badge, having achieved outstanding success in their studies, research and social work during the years of study at the Russian University of Transport. This award is given by the rector in a festive atmosphere upon presentation of a university graduation diploma. The silver mark of MIIT is a silver wreath of laurel (left) and oak (right) branches. In the middle of the coat of arms of Russia is gilded silver. Below is a ribbon of gilded silver on which the abbreviation of the university is written in black enamel. Above the ribbon are University symbols - adjustable spanner and hammer.

Along with diplomas, 19 students will be awarded with the signs of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation “For Distinction in Study”. The decision to promote this sign is taken by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.

Graduates of Russian University of Transport (MIIT) have received diplomas of Chinese Leading Transport University.

Diplomas of Chinese Leading Transport University were received by the Russian students of RUT (MIIT) in 2020.

"Thanks to the double degree program, implemented jointly with Beijing Transportation University, where nine students of l Russian University of Transport (MIIT) received the diplomas. In 2020 it is planned a new intake of students for training under this program", - told the press service.

At the beginning of 2018, after two years of training, the first group of students of RUT (MIIT) was sent to study in China. In the first phase, the students started to learnt Chinese language as starters for two semesters at the pre-university courses in Weihai province. After successful completion of the language test, the group was admitted to study at Beijing Jiaotong University on the chosen specialty and to practice in the period of 2019/20 academic year.

In the period of 2019/2020 academic year, students completed training on an individual plan at RUT (MIIT), accomplished and defended a research project. According to students’ opinion, studying at Beijing Transport University is a great opportunity to get education of one of best Chinese Leading Transport Universities and work experience abroad.

The agreement of double degree program with Beijing Transport University was signed in 2017. It involves obtaining diplomas from two universities upon graduation. This program is being implemented at the Russian University of Transport with the support of the international Corporation "Eurasia", a successful collaboration which lasted for many years. Every year the international Corporation "Eurasia" offers 10 grants to students of RUT (MIIT) for studying at Beijing Transportation University.

The winners of the contest "transport of the future

29 may was held the final stage of all-Russian contest of research and project works "transport of the future", held this year in video format on the platform of "Zoom". The opening ceremony was attended by rector RUT (MIIT) Alexander Klimov.

In the final, we selected 120 works submitted by nearly 180 participants from 12 Russian regions and the Republic of Belarus.

The results of the finals determine the best work in 11 categories. Winners in two age categories (under 14 and under 19 years), 35 projects were ranked second 28 works, and others – 27. There were also 9 papers presented by younger pupils.

Among the winners included representatives from ten Russian regions and participants from Belarus. Among them – students of secondary schools, schools and boarding schools of JSC "RZD", lyceums, gymnasiums, children's Railways and quantanium JSC "RZD", as well as students in colleges according to programmes of vocational education.

The main objective of the Competition "transport of the future" – to give the chance to participants to show the relevance in the transport industry for the most different ideas, to be able to share the results of his work, to feel sympathetic professional atmosphere.

The experts noted that the vast majority of the work was high quality, with new, original ideas and to compare them with each other was very difficult, so in many categories the places were distributed between several projects.
