This term's Play-Doh club has been a success with students producing some fabulous Play-Doh models. Using Play-Doh helps children, especially younger ones to develop the fine-motor skills and coordination they need to use tools for cutting, mark making, drawing and writing, as it promotes tendon and muscle strength and growth.

Along the way, we learned how to cooperate, share ideas, and bring our visions to life through teamwork and creativity. Friendly building competitions added extra excitement, pushing us to think outside the box while cheering each other on. EIS Year 7 and Year 8 went on a field trip to Bunker 42, 65 meters below Taganskaya Square. This bunker housed the main command center for the strategic nuclear forces of the USSR, bombers and missiles, for 30 years - up until 1986. The students saw models of the first Soviet nuclear bomb and the nuclear "suitcase," and learned about the history and role of the bunker - including about the Cuban Missile Crisis, when fortunately the bunker did not have issue the commands to launch the weapons. However, several students got to participate in a simulation of a missile launch and press "the button" and then underwent a simulated missile strike on them!
