On October 26-27, the Congress Center hosted the Open Doors Days for applicants and their parents, who came to get acquainted with the university and the areas of professional training.

As part of the first part of the event, an extended presentation was held in which university representatives spoke about the admission rules in 2020, as well as a list of specialties for which recruitment will be carried out. In the second part, a question and answer session was held, during which applicants were able to ask all questions of interest. The meeting was addressed by the directors of institutes in the areas of training and the head of the Center for Master's programs.

New cancer biomarkers, visualization techniques, laser technologies and focal treatment hold the key to the future of prostate cancer management. The conference is moderated by leading researchers and speakers from around the world. It is dedicated to novel organ-sparing techniques of cancer removal that have no detrimental effects on urination or sexual function. The one-day event features four semi-live surgeries: focal cryoablation, focal NanoKnife, transrectal and transperineal MRI-fusion biopsy. This is the first conference in Russia organized by the EAU Section of Uro-Technology (ESUT) in association with Sechenov University.

Scientists Demonstrated How an Individual Approach Helps to Treat Cancer
A team of biologists from Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and Lobachevsky University (Nizhny Novgorod) analyzed available methods of targeted drug delivery to malignant tumors. Individual approaches to cancer therapy limit the influence of drugs on healthy tissues and reduce side effects. The results of the study were published in the Cancers journal.

Tissue engineering approach as reconstructive method in eardrum regeneration: preclinical trials at Sechenov University.
Ear disorders are mainly characterized by lesions of hearing organs, development of inflammatory process in different parts of the ear or hearing loss. Ear diseases can especially be worrying because they could lead to pain and discomfort or even serious hearing impairment.
The greatest success in this research area was achieved by the scientists of Sechenov University. Their study is currently at the stage of preclinical trials.
