Alexander Stepanovich took part in WW2 only in very beginning, in 1941. But he was removed from the front by law because he received PhD degree before it. He was ordered to raise USSR Artilleria Academia in Central Asia. He was a professor of this Academy all his life.

Abstract : This book elucidates the problems, essential in practice, of the theory of automatic control and electric automation from the aspect of structural investigation m**hods. Analyzed is the effect of inner components which characterize the structure of elements and the complex control systems, as well as additional connections employed to obtain stability, precision, and other indices of sys tem. A mathematical device is described needed in the use of structural m**hods, based on the Laplace and Fourier conversions, and designed for use in control systems with alternating as well as constant parameters. The majority of these problems are oriented toward solutions by modula tion m**hods. The complex dynamic processes in electric furnaces, electric machines, electric automatic parts, and synthetized complex control systems are described in a manner understandable to engineers. The book contains a number of nomograms and calculation tables which facilitate the solution of the problems of analysis and synthesis, mainly on the basis of frequency m**h ods. (Author)
