What is special about March 17? This is when St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated!☘️
The holiday not only observes the patron saint of Ireland, but is also a celebration of Irish culture. St. Patrick’s Day is known for parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.
Except for the shamrock, one of the symbols of the Irish holiday is the Leprechaun. The tradition says wearing green colour makes you invisible to leprechauns, which like to pinch anyone they can see. Some people also think this color will make you lucky.
So bring out your green!

Today, the whole world celebrates Pi Day which highlights one of the most famous mathematical constants. By the way, the date was not chosen by chance!
Pi Day was founded by an American physicist and employee of the Science Museum in San Francisco Larry Shaw. He noticed that in the American date format, the day of March 14 – 3/14 – coincides with the first digits of Pi. This sequence can be continued at 1:59:26 on the clock as the date and time together represent the first 8 digits of Pi.
What is interesting, the date coincides with the birthday of physicist Albert Einstein. To celebrate two significant events, various mathematical events are traditionally held. People usually bake and eat big round pies as part of the celebrations due to the words "Pi" and "pie" sounding similarly in English.

To minimize the risk of getting COVID-19, remember to wear a mask in public places and transport, wash your hands with soap and use antiseptic. This will significantly reduce the risk of getting the virus.
Vaccination can provide maximum protection against the virus. In Moscow, you can get vaccinated in several out-patient clinics. To get vaccinated, produce your passport and one of the following documents: labor patent, residence permit, or temporary residence permit.

An old Slavic holiday lasting for a whole week is called Maslenitsa. Let's find out what it is about!
For Russian people, it is the way of saying goodbye to the winter and welcoming the spring. Pancake is the symbol of the holiday. It is the representation of both – the sun in the pagan tradition, and the last opportunity to enjoy dairy producst before the Great Lent.
What is interestig, every day of the Maslenitsa week has a special meaning. For example, Monday is considered a welcoming day. People make a straw doll called Lady Maslenitsa. It symbolises winter and becomes the centre of the celebration.
Sunday is the final day, or a day of forgiving. People say sorry to each other for all the wrong things they have done and burn Lady Maslenitsa doll. This practice has become an almost iconic symbol of the festival.
