- PolitIQ fellows also have an opportunity to extend the granting period and participate in competition throughout the whole academic year.

- To apply, you do not necessarily have to be a PSPP student. Prospective students of the program are also welcome to apply.

- The application is open during the whole academic year, what helps to have a longer interval between two application processes: scholarship and the application for the program itself. It allows you to track your enrollment’s progress and manage your admission schedule effectively.

🪐 Watch Jupiter through a vintage telescope in the center of Russia's capital? Attend a classical music concert and read your poetry? There is a place where you can do all of this and which is located in MSU. Meet the MSU Sternberg Astronomical Institute.

The name of the Institute was given in honor of a Soviet astronomer Pavel Shternberg, who, along with being a scholar, was a talented musician who played several musical instruments and played in a university orchestra. Maybe this was the beginning of the Institute's noteworthy tradition of holding instrumental music concerts right within the walls of the Institute.

🌕 During the war, Institute's astronomers were observing the Sun's surface to detect solar flares, which affect the quality of radio signals. In Ekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk during Soviet times), a special "Sun Service" established for this purpose.

Today, Sternberg Astronomical Institute is the biggest center of astronomical research, with more than 200 researchers working and a space for creative people passionate about studying the universe and enchanted by its mysteries. You can visit Institute's website to find out more about its art life, see photo works of astronomers, and read their poems inspired by the cosmos.

🔭 If you want to follow Plato's advice and turn to astronomy to make your soul turn to other, "upper" worlds, the Sternberg Astronomical Institute is the best place to do so.

1. The program's graduates receive two diplomas instead of one since they study at two of Russia's leading universities.
Their first year students spend at Lomonosov MSU and second – at MGIMO University.

2. The PSPP MA program is taught in English, which means that all our students study politics in a very international company! This year PolitIQ welcomed students from Great Britain, Germany, Japan, China, Canada, and other countries.
Each professional political expert should have a reliable source of expert opinion in every part of the world to get an objective picture, and we know it better then anyone.

3. Last year the PSPP MA program won 1st place in MSU's contest in the nomination "New educational programs for international citizens implemented in 2021".

4. To enter the program, you should not necessarily have a background in Political Science. It does not matter if you were not that good at politics until now, cause from now on you will be guided by real professionals.

5. Each semester PSPP MA students attend lectures given by professors from the world's top universities. Among them are lecturers from Columbia University, University of Oxford, University College London, University of Pennsylvania.

What distinguishes the world's best universities? Traditions! Today Lomonosov MSU celebrates its most significant event – University's birthday. This celebration yields many authentic traditions: from preparing a hundred liters of mead to the liturgy at the Universities' Church.

A bit of history. On the 25th of January in 1755, Russian Empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed a decree declaring the establishment of the Moscow University. There is a legend about the University's first curator Ivan Shuvalov, who intentionally delayed the signing of decree to leave it for his mother's upcoming Tatiana Nameday, traditionally taking place on the 25th of January. By doing so, he wanted to present his mother the most epic gift for Tatiana's Day. His plan successfully worked, and since then, Saint Tatiana is also seen as a patroness of students.

The sweetest tradition – we mean the tradition of making University's rector homemade mead – celebrates its 29th anniversary this year. The idea of standing students the mead came to MSU's rector, Victor Sadovnichiy when he was visiting his good friend Helmut Klein (Rector of Humboldt University). Professors were walking around German University's park when two students approached them, and after greetings suggested rectors in jest to buy them a glass of beer, which was sold nearby. Undeterred, a German professor spent a coin and passed a student a glass of draught beer. I thought to myself: "Well, that is a good form of extracurricular communication with students", - says V. Sadovnichiy.

Beer, however, does not have such a rich history as it does in Germany. Also, suggesting alcohol to students seemed a bit inappropriate. Then MSU's rector recalled an episode from his youth when he happened to try an original drink made according to an old Russian church recipe. From here was born an idea of a secret recipe and cooking of a traditional birthday drink for MSU students.

Honey for the mead was brought personally by a Moscow ex-mayor Yury Luzhkov from his apiary. In recent years MSU's rector has brought ingredients from the Moscow region.
