A meeting dedicated to memory day was held at MAI

On June 22, a rally was held on the MAI Main Square dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow on June 22, 1941, the day the Great Patriotic War began. The event was attended by the faculty, directors of directorates of institutes, employees, teachers and students.

At the memorial, the memory of those who died for the freedom and independence of our Motherland was honored with a minute of silence, flowers were laid at the monument to the Mayans who died during the Great Patriotic War.

Training with character: why MAI students chose equestrian sports

Student time is a great time not only for the accumulation of professional skills and knowledge, but also for sports achievements. There are more than sixty Olympic champions, world and European champions among Mayovites. The MAI teams, our athletes have repeatedly become champions of the USSR and Russia, winners of international, all-Russian, Moscow competitions.

The university itself has all the conditions for playing sports. In addition to the course of physical education and general physical preparation, students can engage in sports improvement groups by sports or choose one of the sections of the MAI Sports Club. Formed in 1945, it became the first student sports club in the USSR. Sections of basketball, volleyball, hockey, tourism, swimming, ice skating, alpine skiing, athletics, ski school, weight lifting, boxing, wrestling, gymnastics, football, tennis, rowing, cycling, chess, yachts were one of the first in the Moscow Aviation Institute -club.

Currently, there are more than 50 sections and clubs in various sports at the Moscow Aviation Institute. Despite the fact that while the university does not have a section devoted to equestrian sports, two girls study professionally in this sports discipline and are able to find an approach to animals with difficult temperaments at the Institute No. 5 “Engineering Economics and Humanities” of the Moscow Aviation Institute.

MAI Volunteer Center held a sports marathon for students

From May 25 to 29, a sports marathon organized by the MAI Volunteer Center was held at the Moscow Aviation Institute. The purpose of the event is to maintain the physical fitness of the Mayans in quarantine and improve their health.

The idea of ​​creating a sports marathon belongs to Ksenia Yakurnova, a 3rd year student at Institute No. 11 “Materials Science and Materials Technology”, who also became its leader. For the participants of the marathon, the girl prepared training suitable for athletes of any level of training.

For five days, the guys performed exercises for warming up, strengthening and stretching various parts of the body. The participants of the marathon had to shoot and post their workouts on their Instagram account, noting the hashtag sportmarafon_mai and the account of the Volunteer Center of the Moscow Aviation Institute. Following the results of five days, seven of the most active guys were selected, who were able to participate in the drawing of valuable prizes with May symbolism.

MAI graduate appointed head of Voronezh Agency for Innovation and Development

The director of the Agency for Innovation and Development of Economic and Social Projects of the Voronezh Region was Yuri Gribanov. The corresponding order was signed on May 18.

Yuri Gribanov graduated from Institute No. 2 “Aircraft, rocket engines and power plants” of the Moscow Aviation Institute with a degree in thermal engineering.

MAI students become champions of the student eSports League

The final tournament of the student e-sports league ended in Moscow. 12 teams from various universities fought for prizes in the virtual tournament. The greatest success was achieved by the MAI Cyber ​​Team - the Mayans became champions in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive discipline.

In a tense final battle, our fighters fought with the team of the Russian University of Transport (RUT (MIIT)). The beautiful and well-coordinated game of our team consisting of students Egor Kuzmin, Nikita Pershin, Roman Ershov, Mikhail Yevtikhov, Vladimir Kopytov and Dmitry Isaev brought a well-deserved first place in the tournament and a nice cash bonus.

Mayevtsy successfully completed both stages of the tournament - the group stage and reached the playoffs. League winners will receive direct tickets to the Moscow Cup in computer sports, which will take place as soon as the epidemiological situation in the city improves.
