Mad Men

Mad Men is an American period drama television series created by Matthew Weiner and produced by Lionsgate Television. Mad Men begins at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. The series's main character is the charismatic advertising executive Don Draper (played by Jon Hamm), who is initially the talented creative director at Sterling Cooper. He is erratic and mysterious, but is widely regarded throughout the advertising world as a genius; some of the most iconic advertisement campaigns in history are shown to be his creation. Later, Don becomes a founding partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, but begins a struggle as his highly calculated identity falls into a period of decline. The plot of the show tracks the people in his personal and professional lives. As the series progresses, it depicts the changing moods and social mores of the United States throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. Mad Men received widespread critical acclaim for its writing, acting, directing, visual style, and historical authenticity; it won many awards, including 16 Emmys and 5 Golden Globes.

Why Don’t You Write Me?

1. Do you have good handwriting? Do you remember enjoying writing activities/classes in school, university? Is it important to teach children handwriting today?
2. What people/professions are stereotyped as having bag handwriting? Do you agree with these stereotypes?
3. Do you prefer typing to handwriting or vice versa? Can you type quickly? Did you take classes to learn fast typing or were you self-taught?
4. Is autocorrect a blessing or a curse? Have you ever had any funny or stressful stories relating to autocorrect?
5. Do you have a talent for creative writing? Does anyone you know? Have you ever tried writing stories, poems, etc.?
6. Are there certain public figures/influencers that you follow for their writing (not their lifestyle, Instagram photos, etc.)
7. Do you ever still write letters with pen and paper? When was the last time you did? Are there other things you still prefer to write by hand?
8. Does writing things down help you plan your schedule and organize your life? Do you have a particular system for taking such notes?

Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a 2014 comedy-drama film written and directed by Wes Anderson. It tells the story of a famed concierge of a twentieth-century mountainside resort in the fictional country of Zubrowka who is framed for the murder of a wealthy dowager amidst the backdrop of an encroaching fascist regime. The film received widespread acclaim for its craftsmanship, acting, and comedy; occasional criticism centered on the film's approach to the subject matter, fragmented storytelling, and characterization. The film led the 87th Academy Awards season with nine nominations (winning four), and earned several other accolades, chiefly for writing and technical achievement.

Fleabag is a British comedy-drama television series created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, based on her one-woman show first performed in 2013. Waller-Bridge stars as the title character, a free-spirited but angry and confused young woman in London. The protagonist frequently breaks the fourth wall to provide exposition, internal monologues, and a running commentary to the audience.

The show premiered on July 21, 2016 and concluded its second and final series on April 8, 2019. It received widespread acclaim from critics, particularly for its writing, acting, and the uniqueness and personality of the title character.
