Roundtable at the RCSC Zambia
In the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Zambia (Russian House), Lusaka, a virtual roundtable Russia-Zambia on "Development of Sustainable STEM Ecosystem" was held, which, along with representatives of several universities and other organizations in Russia, as well as universities and schools in Zambia, was attended by representatives of NRU "MPEI" Associate Professor of Department of the Theoretical Bases of Heat Engineering, Professor V.F. Ochkov; Docent of the Department of Hydropower Engineering and Renewable Energy, M.O. Kah; and Head of the Department of Foreign Postgraduate Studies and Internships, N.M. Savchenkova.
STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) is a curriculum that combines science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The approach is based on a combination of theoretical and applied skills.
For several years, NRU "MPEI" has maintained a close cooperation with the Russian House in Lusaka, taking part in joint educational and scientific activities. We have students from Zambia studying here.

On April 27, 2021, NRU "MPEI" and Schneider Electric, a world leader in the provision of digital solutions in the field of energy management and automation, signed an agreement on large-scale strategic cooperation.
Nikolay Rogalev, Rector of NRU "MPEI" and Johan Vanderplaetse, President of Schneider Electric in Russia and the CIS, signed the agreements at a ceremony at the Schneider Electric Innovation Summit Moscow 2021.
The parties agreed on joint training, retraining and advanced training of specialists, updating programs of higher and additional professional education, taking into account the needs of the company, as well as developing a methodology and tools for assessing the professional level of employees.
A separate area will be research and development work, namely the preparation of complex scientific and technical projects and programs of a full innovation cycle aimed at developing the Schneider Electric product line by increasing the level of efficiency, environmental safety and equipment reliability.
In addition, the parties will create a practice-oriented training program for young specialists, which will include the organization of student design bureaus, student internships in the company, and the involvement of Russian and international Schneider Electric experts in the educational process.
