A new era in global nuclear energy has begun with the construction of the world's first fast-neutron nuclear power plant, which will include a reprocessing plant for reprocessing spent fuel. This brings to life what experts have always talked about for decades to come: closing the fuel cycle. All this will take place on the territory of the Siberian Chemical Plant in Severe, which belongs to Rosatom, where the foundation of the innovative BRESZT-OD-300 lead-cooled fast neutron block began on June 8, 2021.

Look inside a General Fusion power plant and learn about our unique approach to creating clean energy, everywhere, forever from fusion.
General Fusion's magnetized target fusion (MTF) approach uses compression to heat hydrogen plasma fuel to the 150 million degree Celsius temperatures required to release energy from fusion. This energy is then captured in the liquid metal lining the walls of the chamber, allowing it to be converted to electricity.
This approach draws on new technologies such as additive manufacturing and high-speed electronics to remove the traditional barriers to commercial fusion energy, opening a pathway to clean energy, everywhere, forever.

Research reactors are small nuclear reactors used in scientific research, development, education and training and we use them as a source of neutrons for use in industry, medicine and agriculture. They are also called non-energy reactors, as they are not used to produce electrical energy, unlike reactors that are large and used to produce electrical energy or produce heat.
