Language is a living creature which means it’s constantly evolving and enriching 🚀. Nowadays English is a great deal different thing from spoken 200 years ago🗿. Every year dictionaries and other manuals are entrenched with hundreds of new words. Here are some of latter-day items picked from Oxford and Merriam-Webster Dictionaries:

👩🏾‍💻Influencer (noun): A well-known or prominent person who uses the internet or social media to promote or generate interest in products, often for payment.

💸Side hustle (noun): (originally in African-American usage) a part-time job or occupation undertaken in addition to one’s main job in order to earn extra income.

🎃Pumpkin spice (noun): A mixture of ground spices (typically including cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves) originally used as an ingredient in pumpkin pie filling, and now added as a flavouring to a variety of food items.

🦹🏼‍♀️TERF (noun): Trans-exclusionary radical feminist. A feminist whose advocacy of women’s rights excludes (or is thought to exclude) the rights of transgender women. Also more generally: a person whose views on gender identity are (or are considered) hostile to transgender people, or who opposes social and political policies designed to be inclusive of transgender people.

🫅🏾Enby (noun and adjective):  A person who has a non-binary gender identity.

🤵🏻‍♂️First gentleman (noun): the husband or male partner of a president or other leader.

☄️Yeet (interjection, slang): used to express surprise, approval, or excited enthusiasm. Verb: to throw especially with force and without regard for the thing being thrown.

☎️Dumbphone (noun): a cell phone that does not include advanced software features (such as email or an internet browser) typically found on smartphones.

💝Galentine’s Day (noun): a holiday observed on February 13th as a time to celebrate friendships especially among women.

Seams like becoming a nutritionist 👩🏼‍⚕️ is such a popular thing these days. But can you actually treat an eating disorder by simply prescribing optimal intake of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, healthy foods 🥗🥒🥦 and so on? Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. Just as we can’t tell whether someone has an eating disorder based on their weight alone ⚖️, we can’t get rid of these disorders simply by eating differently🥩. That’s because eating disorders are psychiatric illnesses 🤕🔬. They involve a disruption to someone’s self-perception😔. Let’s get to the bottom of what eating disorders are🧐, because eating disorders are profoundly misunderstood.

An eating disorder is a mental disorder defined by abnormal eating behaviors that negatively affect a person's physical or mental health🫣. Most people who experience it are severely critical of themselves and report many self-perceived flaws. Causes of eating disorders are unclear, although a combination of genetic🧬 and environmental risk factors are present.

Here are some main patterns of behavior:

❗️restricting food intake
❗️bingeing
❗️rapidly consuming large amounts of food
❗️purging or eliminating calories through ❗️vomiting
❗️laxatives
❗️excessive exercise

An eating disorder can involve any one or any combination of these behaviors. Of course it’s just a fraction of researches made by scientists, but we hope this article can help you understand yourself better. ❤️

Inventing Anna 😎 is an American drama streaming television miniseries created and produced by Shonda Rhimes. We here at are huge fans of Shonda (that lady deserves a post❤️)!

This TV Series is based on a true story of an alleged German heiress 👸🏼 Anna Delvey who was accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars 💰💸 from banks, financial institutions, and her acquaintances between 2013 and 2017. But it turned out, she was really a Russian-born, German-raised scam queen 👑 who somehow fooled New York’s super-rich and powerful to bow down to her. Even her expensive clothes and bags👜, huge tips, trips and dinners🍽 at Michelin restaurants were either gifts or paid for by loans.

The reality is that Anna was born to an average family👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 in Domodedovo, Moscow region and in 2007, her family moved to Germany.

Sources claim that Anna Delvey, who’s real name is Anna Sorokin (I’m still wondering why it’s not SorokinA🤨), was raising money in hopes of launching a member’s only club called the Anna Delvey Foundation (ADF). Well, big dreams come with a price!

No more spoilers; you’ll have to watch it and see by yourselves 😁!

We came across the filter on Instagram📱 called “Mandela Effect”. It shows you two almost identical pictures (mostly logos and cartoon characters) to choose from. The idea is to pick the one that really exists. But we couldn’t figure out why that would be of any interest to anyone, so we googled. Here’s what we have for you.

The term "Mandela Effect" was first coined in 2009 by Fiona Broome. She was at a conference talking with other participants about her memories of how a former South African president Nelson Mandela🤴🏾 died in a South African prison in the 1980s. However, after being released from prison, Mandela was the president of South Africa 🌍 and actually died on December 5, 2013. As Broome began to talk to other people about her memories, she learned that she was not alone in her beliefs.

In psychology, false memory 😵‍💫 is a phenomenon where someone recalls something that did not happen or recalls it differently from the way it actually happened. The scary 😬 part is that false memories can sometimes be shared by multiple people. The story of Nelson Mandela is not the only example of this type of false group memory. Do you remember the Monopoly Man wearing a monocle🧐? You’re not the only one. However, if you look at him carefully, you’ll realize he’s not wearing a monocle. He never has. Or what about the evil queen’s phrase in “Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs”? The one that you remember probably goes🪞 “Mirror, mirror on the wall,” but if you re-watch any version of the movie you will discover that this phrase has never been there. The real phrase is actually “Magic mirror on the wall.”

Netflix presented yet another gripping documentary 📺 telling the story of the Israeli con artist Simon Leviev (his real name is Shimon Hayut).

He used Tinder 📲 to connect with women all over the globe. His photos (on the dating-app and Insta) showed a lavish lifestyle 💰, business dinners 🍽, expensive sport ⚾️events, etc. He would charm women with extravagant gifts🎁, take them to dinners on private jets✈️, pretend to be in relationships with them and lure them with the idea of having “a perfect future together” 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

He would later pretend he was being targeted by his "enemies"😈. He would send the same messages and images to each woman, pretending that his bodyguard was attacked and asking his victims to help him financially🙏🏻💸.

It looked like a Ponzi scheme. He used one woman's money on another woman. It was never his name on the credit card 💳, so he had plausible excuse. He could always say that he had just been borrowing the money. Perfect scam, isn’t it? 🤦🏻‍♀️

By using one woman's credit card to buy plane tickets to a second woman and to buy a dinner to a third, he was able to travel 🌍 a lot, and he never stayed long in one place. That made it very hard for local police authorities 👮🏻 with low budgets to go after a man that, in their world, was like a small scam.

Of course, we’re not going to give away 🙅🏻‍♀️ the ending of the documentary. That’s for you, dear followers, to watch 👀.

❗️Sidenote:❗️

A Con artist (мошенник). A confidence trick is an attempt to defraud (обмануть) a person or group after first gaining their trust.

A Ponzi scheme (финансовая пирамида) is a form of fraud that lures investors and pays profits to earlier investors with funds from more recent investors.

If you love scrolling the Internet 📱, you might have come across the three magical letters NFT. Everybody seems to be going crazy 🤪about it. What exactly is an NFT? 🤔

The abbreviation stands for a non-fungible token (невзаимозаменяемый токен), which is a unique unit of data employing technology that allows digital content🤯. NFTs can really be anything digital such as drawings 🖼, music 🎶 , your brain 🧠 downloaded and turned into an AI (Artificial Intelligence). 😂 I mean, why not?

Each NFT is unique and has no analogues. So, if we say that any item is interchangeable, then this means that there is its complete analogue. Let's take a $20 bill as an example - if you lend it to a friend 👯‍♀️, you won't notice if they pay you paid back with another banknote 💵 of the same denomination. Because each token is uniquely identifiable, NFTs differ from blockchain cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin.

Digital art 🖼 is a common use case for NFTs. The work "Merge" by artist Pak is the most expensive NFT with a price 💰 of $91.8 million. “Everydays: the First 5000 Days”, by artist Mike Winkelmann (known professionally as Beeple), is the second most expensive piece of art sold at an auction for 🤑 US$69.3 million in 2021.

Our personal favourite 😍 NFT related story is connected with the online gaming industry. CryptoKitties 🐈 was an early successful blockchain online game where players adopt and trade virtual cats 😻. The monetisation of NFTs within the game raised a $12.5 million investment, with some kitties 🐈‍⬛ selling for over $100,000 each.

Has the world 🌍 gone mad or is it our future? Comment down below 👇😉.

Smarter 🧠 Faster 🏃‍♀️ Better 🤩
How to be more productive at work?!
Monday has almost come to an end but we have other 4 weekdays ahead😕. So, how not to burn at work and get through the routine with maximum performance 🔋? How to write ✍️ an ideal to-do list?! NY Times journalist and author Charles Duhigg with ESL Brain offer some tips:

💡Picture your day, build a mental model of what’s going to happen in a day

💡Look for choices that make you feel in control

💡Add big goals to the top of the to-do list and below write SMART sub-goals

💡Make sure everyone has the same chance to talk during a meeting

💡Force yourself to turn to someone else and explain a new fact to them

Moreover according to Charles Duhigg, an effective to-do list should consist of 🤸🏻stretch goals and SMART goals🤓. Stretch goals are large and ambitious, e.g. starting a company💼, while SMART goals are short-term🪡, concrete steps 👟required to achieve a stretch goal. Getting things done 🙆🏻‍♀️ will be much easier when you have a stretch goal and several SMART goals connected to it.

Do you find these ones 👆🏻useful? Share yours in comments and don’t forget to like ♥️.
