Dear Friends, we are happy to share our emotions after visiting Maslenitsa at the island Sviyajsk last Sunday.

Maslenitsa is a week during which Russians cook pancakes and at the last day burn the big doll - Maslenitsa that means saying goodbye to winter and saying hello to spring.

The day was full of interesting excursions, national entertainments, having fun, tasting national food, beautiful photos of picturesque places and participation in burning the Maslenitsa doll.

Students expressed their gratitude for the day.

On the eve of Maslenitsa week, a workshop on the Russian pancake cooking was held jointly with the Faculty of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication.

Russian-speaking students added a national flavor by including Russian musical motives and coming in national costumes.

The pancakes turned out delicious. Especially in combination with products such as condensed milk, sour cream and raspberry jam, and of course Russian tea.

The students highly appreciated the workshop and shared Colombian musical motives, including salsa music.
