IKBFU Scientists Took Part in Saint Petersburg Digital Humanities Week 2022

Researchers at the IKBFU Centre for Social and Humanitarian Informatics Vyacheslav Vereschagin, Mikhail Lopatin, Vitaliy Maslov, and MA student Tatyana Fomina participated in the event. The SPB DHweek 2022 was organized by the ITMO University to advance the sphere of DH projects.

IKBFU took part in the online meeting of Russian members of the Consortium.

The conference was created as a part of the implementation of the ERASMUS+ KA2 ALLVET project.

Elena Zimovina, PhD., Senior Researcher of Sociological Laboratory, and Violetta Philippova, Head of the Division for Internationalization and International Partnerships were representatives of the IKBFU. Members discussed organization of the project and its study modules.

Participants will also attend the Online International Research-and-Practice Conference which will be held 29th of March

IKBFU and Brandenburg University of Technology: new negotiation

A new cooperation agreement in Engineering has been signed by IKBFU and the Brandenburg University of Technology (Germany). The partners discussed Master programmes and the opportunities of academic exchange.

As reported by Prof. Dr. Sergey Koryagin, Director of the IKBFU Institute of Engineering, the cooperation is valuable for its "scientific and experimental work".

Now both parties are making plans for future development.

Science development: what opportunities International Conference on Parallel Computing Technologies provides

The 16th International Conference on Parallel Computing Technologies (PaCT-2021) will be held in Kaliningrad, Russia, September 13-18, 2021. IKBFU scientists will also take part in the meeting.

The main topics of the conference are technological aspects, computer science and some more connected to programming systems.

The goal of the PaCT-2021 is to share useful information about new developments and trends in computing technologies, acquire new knowledge and exchange experience between specialists all over the world.

The world's center of philosophy: Kaliningrad celebrates 300th anniversary pf Immanuel Kant

On the 17th March the IKBFU is holding a philosophy seminar attended by many scientists and thinkers. It is devoted to the 300th anniversary of Im. Kant. The meeting covers Kant’s ideas of critical thinking in the modern world and other important philosophical issues.

Bachelor, Master, and Post-graduate students also take part in the discussion. Scientists promise to take into consideration students' point of view.

Sergey Gradirovsky, Head of Educational Projects at Moscow Skolkovo Management School, assumes critical reasoning helps us think differently in case if "we want to change the processes we are involved in".

Prof. Dr. Alexander Fedorov, IKBFU Rector, highlights the importance of Kant's philosophical issues. He also notices "Kaliningrad is to become both the world philosophy center and the world center where ideas are born”.

The seminar starts a three-year-long marathon and it is planned to set up cultural events which will be organized "in a form of a philosophical contest".

IKBFU students are to become professional football players

The IKBFU and the “Baltika” Football club have signed an exclusive agreement on forming a football team. The team will take part in Football League Championship.

Nataliya Ischenko, Deputy Chairperson of the Kaliningrad Region claims that a new project is beneficial and valuable for its cultural significance. From her point of view, "professional football will now become accessible for everyone".

According to Valeriy Ryskov, a forward at the “Kantiana” football team, "it is not only about winning and playing but also about forming a certain football culture".

As Andrey Zaytsev, a defender at the “Kantiana” football team, says, the project will inspire young people "to do good for the university and the region”. It will also help sport development in Kaliningrad.
