High altitudes sensing of the atmosphere, the development of direct and indirect methods of monitoring and control of atmospheric parameters using radiosondes, missiles, aircraft based laboratories, radio and optical radar measurments, spacecraft, etc.;

Experimental and theoretical studies of the physics and chemistry of the free atmosphere, the study of the mechanism of clouds formation in order to improve the methods of weather forecasts and develop weather modification methods;

Research and monitoring of the Earth's ozone layer;
