When our Year 10 and Grade 10 students came up with the idea for a four-day residential in Bicsadu Oltului, we didn't just organise a trip. We gave them the opportunity to turn their idea into an experience.

They cooked together. Fished together. Hiked through the mountains, explored historic wartime trenches and discovered stories that no textbook could fully tell. They learned to manage their time, support one another, solve problems and take responsibility, simply by living the experience together.

At Questfield International College, our teachers are more than educators. They're writers, scientists, artists, mentors, leaders, and, above all, people who never stop learning themselves.

Olimpia Mocฤƒniศ›ฤƒ is one of them. And we're delighted to celebrate Olimpia, one of our dedicated Class Teachers, who has been awarded Second Prize for Poetry in English (Age Group 4) at the 7th Edition of the International Literary Creation Competition โ€“ Festival 4 Arts, for her collection of original poems.

For our students, this means learning from someone who doesn't simply teach a love of language, but lives it every day.

Turning abandoned houses into homes people can actually afford โ€“ this was the idea that won Matei, Year 12 student at Questfield International College, first place at the University of Amsterdam's summer school this year, a pre-university honours programme in business innovation.

When we asked what he'll remember about it, he talked about the people, the friendships, the experience. The award came as a bonus.

We've loved watching Matei grow: on the TEDx Questfield Intl College Youth stage, leading our first QuestMUN as Secretary-General. He's always curious to explore, always courageous to try, and always ambitious to keep going. And he's one of many Questfield students we get to be proud of this year.
