BIST is offering a British-style education and accepting children aged between 4 and 18.

A WORLD CLASS EDUCATION AND INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED QUALIFICATIONS
The British International School of Timisoara is the ﬁrst school with the British International curriculum established in the western part of Romania. This is a cutting-edge project meant to introduce an innovative curriculum, vision and philosophy in the educational ﬁeld at primary and secondary school levels in this part of Romania. The British based educational system harmoniously combines a strong and balanced academic curriculum (languages, mathematics, sciences, technology, creative arts, humanities, social sciences, physical education) with extracurricular activities designed to help children develop emotionally, culturally, socially and spiritually. All teaching is carried out through the medium of the English Language apart from Romanian that is taught as first language. The school employs teachers from the United Kingdom alongside international teachers with relevant experience in similar schools from all over the world. All the teachers recruited locally will attend an intensive and comprehensive training programme, meant to provide them with all the necessary information and tools to enable them to embrace the educational approach promoted within our vision and aims. Students joining our school are stepping into a world of dreams and opportunities which can grow proportionally with their desire, effort, determination and ambition; they will be able to graduate with a portfolio of achievements recognized by top universities worldwide, including Romania. British International School of Timisoara achieved the Cambridge International School status and it aims to become an International Baccalaureate World School. It is also a compliance member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), which is perceived as being the highest distinction for an overseas British curriculum school to achieve. BIST is currently enrolling students with ages 4 – 14 years old (Reception – Year 9). In most year groups we have two sets per year group with 20 students maximum in a set. The school will develop gradually and will eventually have two sets per year group for all classes. We estimate that we can reach full capacity (600 students) for this location by 2021.

Sezonul aplicațiilor universitare începe cu o veste excelentă: Vlad a primit o ofertă din partea University of St Andrews pentru a studia Economie.

Fondată în 1413, St Andrews este cea mai veche universitate din Scoția și are o istorie impresionantă. Aici au studiat Prince William și Catherine, Princess of Wales, viitorii rege și regină ai Marii Britanii. Printre absolvenții universității se numără și laureatul Nobel Sir James Black și James Wilson, unul dintre Părinții Fondatori ai Statelor Unite.

Un început pe măsură pentru Vlad și, sperăm, prima dintre numeroasele vești bune care vor veni din partea elevilor noștri.

The first university offer for the Class of 2027 is here! 🎓

The university application season begins with excellent news: Vlad has received an offer from the University of St Andrews to study Economics.

Founded in 1413, St Andrews is Scotland’s oldest university and has an impressive history. It is where Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales—the future King and Queen—studied. Its distinguished alumni also include Nobel laureate Sir James Black and James Wilson, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.

A remarkable start for Vlad and, we hope, the first of many exciting announcements from our DP2 students.

Astăzi, elevii din Year 7 Red au pornit într-o expediție spre Munții Frostpeak — fără să părăsească sala de clasă.

Cu o hartă, un buget de 1.000 £ și zece zile pentru a ajunge pe Crystal Summit, exploratorii noștri folosesc numerele negative pentru a găsi traseele sigure și a le evita pe cele periculoase.

Today, Year 7 Red set off on an expedition to the Frostpeak Mountains — without leaving the classroom.

Armed with a map, a £1,000 budget and ten days to reach Crystal Summit, our young explorers are using negative numbers to find the safe trails and avoid the dangerous ones.

Uneori, cele mai utile sfaturi vin de la cei care au trecut deja prin aceeași experiență.

Astăzi, elevii din anul 13 au pregătit un workshop pentru colegii lor din anul 12, în care au vorbit deschis despre viața în IB Diploma Programme: de la abordarea diferitelor materii și organizarea timpului până la evaluările interne.

Au răspuns întrebărilor, au împărtășit lucrurile pe care și-ar fi dorit să le știe mai devreme și au oferit sfaturi bazate pe propria experiență.

Dincolo de informațiile utile, workshopul a arătat ce înseamnă să faci parte dintr-o comunitate în care elevii învață unii de la alții și știu că au la cine să apeleze atunci când au nevoie de sprijin.

Sometimes, the most useful advice comes from those who have already been through the same experience.

Today, our DP2 students led a workshop for their DP1 colleagues, sharing an honest perspective on life in the IB Diploma Programme — from approaching different subjects and managing their time to Internal Assessments.

They answered questions, shared what they wish they had known earlier and offered practical advice based on their own experience.

Beyond the useful information, the workshop reflected what it means to belong to a community where students learn from one another and know they have someone to turn to when they need support.

Proiectul eTwinning „Passport to Imagination” a primit Certificatul Național de Calitate! 🌍

Anul trecut, elevii din Year 4 Red, coordonați de profesoara lor, Ms Denisa Stoian, au colaborat cu școli din Turcia, Letonia, Grecia, Ungaria și Slovenia.

Au scris în limba engleză, au lucrat în echipă, și-au pus creativitatea la încercare și și-au creat propriile avataruri cu ajutorul inteligenței artificiale.

Certificatul recunoaște atât rezultatul final, cât și munca din spatele lui.

Our eTwinning project, “Passport to Imagination”, has received the National Quality Label! 🌍

Last year, our Year 4 Red students, guided by their teacher, Ms Denisa Stoian, worked alongside partner schools in Turkey, Latvia, Greece, Hungary and Slovenia.

They wrote in English, collaborated across borders, put their creativity to work and designed their own avatars using AI. The award recognises both the final outcome and the work behind it.

Universitatea poate părea încă departe pentru elevii din Anul 11 și Anul 12, dar acum este momentul potrivit să înceapă să-și exploreze opțiunile.

Reprezentanții Constructor University din Germania au venit la BIST pentru a le vorbi despre programe, admitere, taxe și viața în campus.

Astfel de vizite fac parte din programul nostru de University and Career Counselling și îi ajută pe elevi să-și găsească direcția.

Representatives from Constructor University in Germany visited BIST to discuss programmes, admissions, fees and campus life.

Duminică, comunitatea British International School of Timișoara a alergat la Crosul OncoHelp. 🩷

De la cei mai mici alergători, de doar patru ani, până la liceeni, părinți și profesori, comunitatea noastră s-a mobilizat pentru o cauză importantă. Cei mai mulți au ales traseul de 3,5 km, iar alții au acceptat provocarea traseului de 10 km.

Cel mai important rezultat al zilei a fost însă faptul că OncoHelp a reușit să strângă suma necesară. Suntem bucuroși că am contribuit și că elevii noștri au văzut, încă o dată, ce putem realiza atunci când ne implicăm împreună.

Mulțumim tuturor celor care au venit, au alergat și au susținut cauza! 🩷

On Sunday, the British International School of Timișoara community took part in the OncoHelp Charity Run. 🩷

From our youngest runners, aged just four, to senior students, parents and teachers, our community showed up for an important cause. Most took on the 3.5 km route, while others accepted the 10 km challenge.

The best result of the day, however, was that OncoHelp reached its fundraising goal. We are happy to have played our part and to have shown our students, once again, what we can achieve when we come together.

Rezultatele academice sunt importante, dar la fel de importante sunt abilitățile care îi pregătesc pe elevi pentru viață. Elevii din Year 7 au făcut primii pași în public speaking alături de Mr Shorten, exersând cm să își structureze ideile, să vorbească clar și să aibă încredere în propria voce.

Este una dintre numeroasele abilități pe care elevii noștri le dezvoltă dincolo de programa academică, pentru că încrederea nu se predă. Se construiește.

Academic achievement matters, but so do the skills that prepare students for life. Our Year 7 students took their first steps into public speaking with Mr Shorten, learning how to structure their ideas, communicate clearly and trust their own voice.

It is one of the many skills our students develop beyond the academic curriculum, because confidence is not taught. It is built.

Audițiile au început, iar elevii noștri sunt pregătiți să cânte, să danseze, să interpreteze și să își descopere locul pe scenă.

Auditions have begun, and our students are ready to sing, dance, act and discover where they belong on stage.

Prima săptămână de școală se apropie de final, iar elevii noștri reintră treptat în ritm.

S-a citit, s-au format echipe, s-au pus întrebări și s-au jucat jocuri care i-au ajutat pe elevi să se cunoască mai bine. Pe scurt: am revenit la învățare, colaborare și multă voie bună.

Astăzi, școala și-a recăpătat energia. 💙
Începem cel de-al optulea an BIST mai mari și mai puternici, cu peste 600 de elevi care au revenit astăzi în campus. A fost o bucurie să ne revedem elevii și să vedem școala din nou plină de viață.

Elevii rămân în centrul a tot ceea ce facem, iar profesorii lor, alături de echipa de conducere, au un rol esențial în dezvoltarea și reușita fiecărui copil, dar și în evoluția întregii școli.

Suntem pregătiți pentru un nou an, cu noi provocări și oportunități de a crește împreună.

Today, our school came back to life. 💙
We begin our eighth year at BIST bigger and stronger, with over 600 students returning to campus today. It was wonderful to welcome our students back and see the school full of life again.
