The Department of Counselling, Career Guidance and Informing Students (DCCGIS) and Junior Researchers Academy announce the upcoming workshop: Preparation for Research in the Behavioral Sciences: Searching, Vetting, and Composing a Publishable Paper, in the clinical setting conducted by Professor Emeritus Dr. Wesley Lee, Chair of Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, as well as Dr. Jeremy Wente and Dr. Adrian Rus from the same Department of Southwestern Christian University, Oklahoma, USA. This workshop is part of a close collaboration between DCCGIS and the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the outcome of this event involving innovative research topics with an emphasis on clinical implications that will be integrated in a scientific article published as a Psychological/Psychiatric Clinical Journal.
The moderators of the event are: Associate Professor Dr. Simona Mureșan, Associate Professor Dr. Peter Olah, Associate Professor Dr. Cosmin Popa

În cadrul zilelor UMFST, JRA vă invită la un workshop științific:

Colectarea și prelucrarea datelor de la sonde extracelulare pentru înregistrare și simulare cu păstrarea intactității și funcționalității la creierul de șoareci

Workshop-ul desfășurat în cadrul proiectului PN-III-P1-1.1-MCT-2021-0009 il va avea ca invitat pe Dr. Romeo Racz, lider de grup al Laboratorului de Interfețe Neurale Neuromorfe de la Universitatea din Southampton, Școala de Electronică și Informatică. Membru al Institutului Francis Crick și membru cercetator de onoare la Facultatea de Științe ale Creierului, Imperial College London. Inventator cu un istoric de succes în cercetare multidisciplinară în neuroștiințe experimentale, inginerie electrochimică și nanoelectronică, Dr. Racz a contribuit la dezvoltarea electrofiziologiei la scară foarte mare și a validat neuroproteze neurosensoriale în stadiu pre-clinic. Dr. Racz are o rețea largă și relații puternice de colaborare cu academicieni și clinicieni de top, experți în capital de risc pentru start-up-urile din Londra și Silicon Valley. Dr. Racz este, de asemenea, cofondator al primului spin-off de știința a datelor la Institutului Francis Crick (Metacognis) și al companiei de învățare profundă a biomarkerilor Vitalink.

🚀 On December 10-11, UMFST Targu Mures in collaboration with JRA and Activize Health organizes the second edition of Multidisciplinary Innovation at the crossroads of health, science and technology Hackathon, a competition for young and creative teams who want to develop and build innovative projects in the field of health.

The competition is dedicated to UMFST students and masters students and will take place online between Friday, December 10th - Saturday, December 11th.

Teams of 3-6 people can sign up for the hackathon, provided that each team must contain members from at least two different faculties to explore interdisciplinary innovation and entrepreneurial applicability.

Dear Junior Researchers,
We invite you to see for yourself what a successful career in research can look like. During the workshop „Investigating new proteins and cells in the mouse and human retina”, the host MD PhD Robert Tripon will guide you through what means to do basic research in the field of Ophthalmology, with promising clinical applications.

MD Phd Robert Tripon, practices clinical Ophthalmology and is an assistant professor at the Department of Ophthalmology - UMFST “G. E. Palade” of Târgu Mureș. During his PhD studies, he has been involved in fundamental research at the Institute of Ophthalmology - University College London, with clinical insights at Moorfields Eye Hospital London. He has also investigated the cellular architecture of the human retina at Boston University, with research visits to Northeastern University Boston and Harvard University. In the past years, he has promoted the development of basic research in this field right here, in Târgu Mureș, and wishes to build it up to a sustainable continuous program with help from international collaborators. His focus is currently on investigating the retinal localization of previously undescribed proteins that are involved in neurodegeneration, aiming to describe cellular architecture utilizing confocal and electron microscopy.

Hello Junior Researchers!
On Tuesday we have explored the first three steps of Design Thinking with Zaki - we had an exciting experience by activating our creative thinking. We invite you to the second part of this workshop, where we will present one inovative idea and we will take it trough all four steps of the Design Thinking:
Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test.

Anyone is welcome, regardless if you have attended the first part or not.
The workshop will be held on the 26th of November, starting at 18:00 (GMT+2), with a duration of aprox. 2 hours.

Zaki Milhem, MD, PhD(c) is a resident Psychiatrist, Chief Innovation Officer for Iceberg+ and CEO of WakeZ, a digital therapeutic solution for sleep and mental health. In 2020, Zaki was one of the winners of EIT Health Service Excellence Program, an immersive, year-long design thinking competition geared towards service design.
