From a special lady two degrees away from knowing us personally. She captures best our mood at this heavy moment...

Dear Paul and Jill,
I have been thinking of you all often this fall. At times the roads near the kids school was blocked or I'd see a heavy military presence and I'd just know why. She was due in court.
Today we received the news of her plight. It sat on me like an uncomfortable shirt. Not quite right but necessary to wear. There was a lot more information made available on her but it read like a bad drama.
I felt angry again. But mostly I felt sad. Although justice...I guess for lack of a better word has been served. I feel sad for the loss of, Ibi. Mother, daughter, sister, woman, educator and more. For the gap that is felt. For your children and for the screwy way people think.
A couple weeks ago, I was sitting with a friend telling her of a business offer I was mulling over at Batik Mall. My friend, an American married to an Englishman paused and her eyes filled up. She said, you know that mall is where....
I thought of Karen's reaction and was touched that Ibi was immediately thought of and her memory needed to be spoken of. Although a tear drop of time has passed she is still thought of by women who never knew her, but think of her.
Today felt like it needed to happen but it doesn't begin to start the path you will walk. I am sorry.
I don't know if you have been back to AD Paul. I hope the kids are..ok. How is Ibi's mother and family?
I want you to know that I am still here and available to help.
In Peace,
Alicia
