Day 10,
30.10.2022

The last day of activities! Quite sad…
After a Romanian energiser, we started the evaluation of the workshops connected to the topic. After a review of the workshops from the first one to the debate competition, we express our opinions about methods, the learning process, what we have learned and how we felt during all those activities.
In the afternoon we had the reflection time in national groups and the Youthpass moment. A very useful tool for reflecting on the second part of the Youthpass certificate was an online form with the key competencies that have to be taken into consideration.
We continued with the final evaluation. There were employed several methods like Pizza, The Learning Tree – the second part, evaluating the period from the mid-term evaluation until the last day and the online form with questions concerning all the aspects of the mobility: from the logistic aspects, learning process to the fun part of the project.
In the evening we had the Youthpass ceremony with the revealing of the secret friends. Then, the final party with tears, promises, exchanges of notes etc. And, preparing the luggage for the journey back home.

Before the Intercultural presentations, the two teams from the finals and the judges were rewarded with symbolic souvenirs. Intercultural evening part 3 was about promoting each other countries. So, Croatia presented Spain, Spain presented Bulgaria, Bulgaria presented Greece, Greece presented Poland, Poland presented North Macedonia, North Macedonia presented Latvia, Latvia presented Romania and Romania closed the circle presenting Croatia. Through quizzes, presentations and storytelling we found a lot of interesting facts about the countries. Sometimes, things surprising for the national teams also… Our creativity was required as a condition for the presentation was not to use electronic devices. And we made it!

Day 9,
29.10.2022

We entered in the eliminatory phases of the debate competition, after the Latvian energiser. The semifinals were played on the motion “The parental access on children’s accounts on social media is justified” and the matches were very balanced. But, as in debate there should be a winner, in finals goes Balkan Negotiators and Goal Diggers. The motion was “This House will ban the beauty contests” and it was won by the Goal Diggers team, from the side of the opposition. All in all, it was a very intense experience from which we learned a lot.

Day 8,
28.10.2022

After the Spanish energiser, all the day was dedicated to the preliminaries of the debate competition. The motions were, alternately, “This house would ban the beauty contests” and “The parental access on children’s accounts on social media is justified”. After very disputed and balanced matches, the teams that qualified in the semifinals were: Hamsters, Goal Diggers, Rainbow and Balkan Negotiators. Even though only those four teams go further, we have the feeling that everyone is a winner: all the preparation time spent in the team, discussions, research and the actual debates were very enriching experiences.
In the evening, being dedicated to our hobbies, we organized a Karaoke event.

Day 7,
27.10.2022

Today we started the debate competition. After the energiser made by the Croatian team, we had the theoretical input for the World Schools debate format. We learned the rules of the game, how to make a “SEXI” argument, how to build a case. And, in the afternoon, we started the first round of the competition. The motion was “This House will ban the beauty contests” and the debates were very tight.
Then, we forgot all the competition because it was the Romanian traditional evening, with barbecue, traditional sarmale, and many more.

Day 6,
26.10.2022

It was a long day, and the highlight was the cultural visit. For the start, we visited Bran with Dracula’s Castle and the great bazar in front of it. It wasn’t so scary, but that was probably because the weather was quite fine.
From there we moved to the city of Brasov. Here we had the opportunity to visit the old ramparts and the old town in the city centre. A lot of things to see, to visit, to taste, a place charged with history and culture. Great experience!
After returning “home”, we had the “Rope Debate” activity. The room was divided in two and we had to place ourselves accordingly to our opinion on some given motions. One side of the room was for agreement, the other for disagreement. In the middle, on the “border”, it was the place for the indecisive persons. The motions were mainly from the area of media literacy.
The day ended with the celebration of Tolea. His second name is Dimitrie, and today, 26th of October was the Saint Dimitrie day. So, we had cake, we sang and had a good time.

Day 5,
25.10.2022

It was the turn of the Greek team to start the day with an energizer. The first workshop of the day was about different perspectives of thinking – “The Story Of Abigail”. Based on the tragic story of Abigail, we could understand how different are the perspectives when it comes to weight the principles, the morality of others and them actions.
The second workshop of the day was about hate speech, causes and how to avoid it when online. We analyse the story of Oli, a young girl exposed to hate speech online. Starting from it, we discovered the main causes of this phenomenon and some ways to fight it.
The workshop in the afternoon was about fake news and how to identify it by CRAAP method. After a short theoretical input, in small teams, starting from some given pictures we had to make a piece of breaking news about very diverse topics, from environmental problems, to a possible alien attack from space. After presenting it, we analysed each other’s news with the CRAAP method, determining the level of reliability.
The working day ended with a short mid-term evaluation with the Archery for the overall level of satisfaction, The Learning Tree for the learning process and a form to be filled in national groups.
But, the day is not ended, because it followed the Intercultural evening, second edition, featuring Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia and Spain. Again, a lot of cultural exchanges, with some snacks, drinks, songs and traditional dances.

Day 4,
24.10.2022

Day 4 started with a Macedonian energizer and went to the forest nearby for team building and trust games. First was “The Car & Driver” – blindfolded, the car should answer to the commands of the driver. Even though the terrain was uneven, no accidents happened.
The second game was “The Drunken Bottle” – inside a circle, the “bottle” was moving around. The priority was not to harm the “bottle”.
For team building, we had firstly “The Land Art” activity – in teams we had to make a piece of art in nature, without harming it. A lot of creativity was put to work.
The morning session ended with the “Egg...straordinary Egg...sercise”. With scarce resources, we had to build devices to protect an egg for a drop from the balcony – about 5m. After making, promoting and cheering, the devices were launched and we registered an egg...sceptional result: 4 out of 6 eggs survived! Egg...static!
The afternoon was for the theatre. Starting from some given sceneries about conflicts due to cyber-bullying, we made short plays showing the problem and the solutions. It was a hard work, but with rewarding results.
But, the day was not over because it followed the first Intercultural (no, Intergalactic) evening. Croatia, Poland and North Macedonia made us taste a bit of their culture: some snacks, some drinks, songs and dances. A very enjoyable evening indeed!
