002 Update
For the 2026-2027 academic year the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) scholarship application.
Below are the updated required documents for non-EU international students. All documents must be scanned individually as PDFs and uploaded to the application portal online.
1. Primary Documents (Required for All)
◇Educational Diplomas: Copies of your high school (Baccalaureate), Bachelor's, or Master's Degrees.
◇Academic Transcripts: Complete transcripts for all years of your most recently completed study cycle.
◇Birth Certificate: A copy of your official birth certificate or equivalent document.
Passport: A copy of the first three pages of your valid passport.
◇Curriculum Vitae (CV): Must be submitted in English or French. Attention your CV should be in Europass CV format which is highly acceptable in Europe.
◇GDPR: A signed consent form for personal data processing (usually available for download on the application portal)
2. Additional Documents (If Applicable)
◇Proof of Graduation: If you are in your final year of school and haven’t received your diploma yet, you must submit a certificate confirming you will take the graduation exam at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, along with your current transcript.
◇Proof of name change: If your current name does not match the name on your diplomas.
◇Parental consent: Required for applicants who will be under 18 years (old when courses begin (notarised and translated)
3. Specific Requirements for PhD Applicants
◇Letter of Intent: (Including a list of scientific works, publications, and a detailed research project description.
◇Pre-Acceptance Letter: Written agreement from a Doctoral Tutor who is a member of the chosen Romanian doctoral school.
Important Eligibility Notes
◇Fields of Study: You can apply for almost any field except Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy.
◇Academic performance: You must have a minimum average grade of 7 (out of 10) in the Romanian grading system.
◇Language policy: For Bachelor's and Master's degrees, the courses are taught only in the Romanian language. Only PhD students may have the option to study in English or French depending on the university.
