Official Update – EV5.8 Regulation Option at FSR

We are announcing an important update for teams competing in Formula Student Romania.

Due to several technical and economic challenges identified after the latest rule changes, teams will be allowed to use last year’s EV5.8 ruleset for this season.

Why this decision?

EV5.8.4 wording changes (v1.0 → v1.1) make timely compliance difficult.

EV5.8.6 requires extra sensors which may lead to improvised, less secure solutions.

Scrutineering under the new rules becomes more complex and harder to keep fair.

Limited budgets this year mean some teams need to reuse their existing accumulator.

What teams must do

At scrutineering, teams will declare which EV5.8 ruleset they plan to follow.
