Matasaru Music Camp A 10 days summer session in Roma Music and Culture Matasaru Music Camp is a unique summer programme which gathers together musicians and students of music.

As a participant in this programme, we offer you the chance to get a better understanding of Roma and Romanian culture. From the oldest times in Romania, the Roma (or Gypsies) were the keepers of the musical tradition, as they were the majority in all the orchestras, bands and ‘tarafs’. What is truly exceptional is that most of the time, their music and skills were transmitted from fathers to sons only by ear.

ACCOMODATION For 15-25 August Music Workshop.

Matasaru Music Camp provides students with accommodation in a hotel in the centre of the town of Gaesti. All rooms have private bathrooms and three star conditions.

You will have breakfast at the hotel, while lunch and dinner will be served at the Music Camp. All classes are held at Matasaru Music Camp, one kilometre outside the town, near Matasaru village. Every morning after breakfast, all students will be transported to the camp with our bus, and the daily program begins. The day finishes with a dinner party at the camp, accompanied, of course, by music. After returning town in the evening, students are free to explore the night life and the local pubs.
