Dear students, professors and collaborators,
We are delighted to invite you to the BIOMEDIX Multiplier Event – “Digital Transformation in Biomedical Engineering”, which will take place on 9 October 2026 at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, as part of the ERASMUS+ KA220 BIOMEDIX project.
The event is intended for those interested in developing medical products and applications using 3D printing and bioprinting, 3D scanning, CAD, virtual reality, and related technologies, as well as exploring future collaborations with the academic, medical, and industrial sectors.
What can you look forward to at the event?
🎓 Thesis topics and student projects – We will present case studies developed within BIOMEDIX and new thesis topics for the next academic year, to be undertaken with the support of the BIOMEDIX project partners. Students are also encouraged to propose their own ideas for medical applications and products.
🌍 Experts from Romania and abroad – BIOMEDIX academic staff and specialists from Romania, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Poland, and Serbia, together with engineers and medical professionals, will present applications and current developments in biomedical engineering.
🖨️ Exhibition and live demonstrations – Some of Romania’s leading companies in the field will showcase 3D printing and scanning equipment, materials, products, and CAD and medical software solutions. An innovative demonstration of virtual reality for medical applications is also planned, highlighting an area being considered for future development within BIOMEDIX.
✈️ ERASMUS+ and BIOMEDIX – We will present opportunities for study and training mobilities and ERASMUS Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), alongside the international BIOMEDIX activities planned for the next academic year: workshops, training sessions, summer schools, and other educational and research activities.
🤝 Industry, healthcare, and entrepreneurship – Representatives from companies, clusters, regional development agencies, and medical institutions will present opportunities for collaboration and the development of new applications and business ideas, including opportunities for students interested in future funding and start-ups.

🙋 Get involved as a volunteer!
Interested students can support us with event organisation, technical assistance, exhibitor liaison, registration, promotion and media, photography and video, guest coordination, and follow-up activities. You can select the volunteering option directly in the registration form. Students who contribute as volunteers will receive certificates recognising their involvement.
Please also help us share this invitation and the flyer with colleagues, students, academic staff, researchers, and collaborators at TUCN, as well as at the University of Medicine, Babeș-Bolyai University, other universities in Romania and abroad, and any individuals or companies interested in developing medical applications through 3D printing and bioprinting technologies.
