A special thank you to Anca Bumb, the projectionist at Cinema Victoria in Cluj-Napoca, for opening the doors of the projection room to our students and giving them a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how cinema comes to life on the big screen.
What made this experience even more inspiring is that projection remains a profession where women are still underrepresented. Seeing Anca at work reminds us how important it is to highlight and celebrate women who choose careers in all areas of the film industry, including the technical fields that often remain invisible to audiences.
During the first edition of Silver Screen International Film Festival, a non-commercial festival dedicated to film dialogue, education, and community, we are proud to support and shine a light on the incredible women working behind the scenes. “Where Stories Travel” is more than a slogan for us .It reflects the spirit of this festival and the belief that cinema has the power to cross borders, connect cultures, and create dialogue between people and places.
The eye and the globe in our poster symbolize the way we see the world through stories, and how stories themselves travel from one country to another, carrying emotions, experiences, identities, and new perspectives.
Silver Screen International Film Festival is dedicated to supporting emerging and young voices in cinema, especially independent and non-commercial films that deserve visibility, space, and meaningful engagement with audiences.
